A resurfaced image from a NASA rover has people questioning whether there could be aliens closer than we think.
The photo was captured on Mars back in 2023 but has now caught the attention of many people on social media after they noticed a small detail.
The black and white image depicts the barren land of the Red Planet but eagle eyed viewers have spotted a strange figure in the left hand corner, which some are describing as a ‘Jellyfish UFO’.
Taking to Reddit to share their thoughts on the matter, one user wrote: “So, Nasa has released an image of a "jellyfish ufo" on Mars? Just a reminder....”

This prompted others to react in the comment section, with another saying: “Well if we get to the point that astronauts admit that they always knew , would the person nearest to them punch them in the face as bad as they can for not telling us!!!! You can say it’s from me !!! It’s the bare minimum they deserve!!! Keeping something this important a secret is criminal especially if there is technology that could help the world!!!”
A third person commented: “Nah, ufos are our tech. The Fermi paradox is unanswered so I simply cannot take any disclosure seriously.”
And a fourth added: “Yea and it is a glitch on the screen from a sun flare of whatever, it's not a darn jellyfish floating around mars like people are going to say smh.”

The photograph was taken by the Right Navigation Camera onboard NASA's Mars rover Curiosity which captured a series of images, but strangely, this is the only one that includes the ‘jellyfish’ figure.
Is the ‘jellyfish’ on Mars a UFO?
So, could it actually be a UFO? Some people seem to think so. Jean Ward, who describes himself as an independent Mars researcher, took to X, formerly Twitter, to share his own thoughts, writing: “Here I present another potential UFO/UAP photographed in the Martian sky. This one seems to be interacting with the surface. It also reminds me of a tripod-like object. As always, until we get boots on the ground to see these anomalies up close, I can only speculate as to what these objects might be.”
But getting humans to Mars to see for ourselves is proving to be a mammoth task, and one that the likes of Elon Musk have had hopes on for a long time.
The world’s richest man previously stated that his firm SpaceX will ‘strive to build a Mars city and begin doing so in about 5 to 7 years’.
