Specific solar panels that are illegal in 49 states across the US have the potential to completely transform energy for the country.
In a new video from YouTuber Zack Nelson, who is better known online as @JerryRigEverything, viewers can get a glimpse of the solar panels being installed on a home.
Up until recently, these types of panels were illegal but a new bill in Utah means that residents are now able to install them onto the roof of their home.

In the video, Nelson explained: “This might come as a surprise, but the solar panels behind me are giving this house power through a normal plug and a normal wall outlet - no complicated wiring required.
“The new Utah House Bill 340, signed just a few weeks ago, allows you to take up to 1,200 watts worth of solar panels (which is four of them) and plug them into a normal wall outlet to give your house or apartment free power.
“This is not an April Fool’s joke; it is actually real, and Utah so far is the only state in the USA to allow this kind of plug-and-play system.”
Showing his viewers how the simple installation works, Nelson continued: “There you have it, the easiest solar installation I have ever done. I, for one, am a huge fan of Utah's new law, and I'm a huge fan of EcoFlow capitalizing on it so quickly.

“Hopefully, someday the rest of the states can enjoy what we're enjoying right now.”
Many people took to the YouTube comment section to share their own reactions to the clip, with one user writing: “Gosh we need this everywhere. Imagine how many people live in apartments and could throw a panel up on their balcony. Could make a massive difference for grid stability too. Hope other states adopt these. They've been around forever.”

Another said: “This should be in every landlord’s upgrade checklist. Tenants want lower bills and greener living this tech makes both possible.”

And another person added: “Hopefully more states will allow this kind of system. A key part of getting widespread use would be not requiring permits and permitting a homeowner to install the system, with the only paperwork requirement being notifying the power company that you're using balcony solar, and maybe a warning sticker for the meter and breaker box.”
It looks like the future of energy could be just around the corner!
