An extremely popular cooking oil is associated with the rise of colon cancer in young people.
A new shocking study has revealed the scary side effects lurking in some of our favorite cooking oils.
The research into the oil was backed by government funding and has found that young Americans could be affected by its deadly side effects.

The study has indicated that there is an increase in cases of colon cancer that has been connected to the consumption of specific cooking oils.
The oils in question include seed oils such as sunflower, corn, grapeseed and canola.
The study was reported in the medical journal Gut, where 81 different tumor specimens from patients with ages ranging from 30 to 85 were analyzed.

From that, researchers found that seed oils could increase a person’s chances of developing this type of cancer.
Experts who conducted the study have recommended that people swap out these seed oils for healthier alternatives that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids.
These include oils such as olive and avocado.

Speaking to heart.org, Dr Christopher Gardner, who is a professor of medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine in California and a nutrition scientist at the Stanford Prevention Research Center, said: “People are cooking with these oils, not drinking them. In a situation where you need some kind of fat for cooking or food preparation, you can use plant oils or you can use butter or lard.
“Very consistently, all the data say butter and lard are bad for our hearts. And studies show swapping out saturated fats and replacing them with unsaturated fats lowers the risk for heart disease.”
Robert F Kennedy Jr, who was recently nominated for the role of secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services by president-elect Donald Trump has warned in the past that Americans are becoming ‘unknowingly poisoned’ by seed oils.
However, the science does indicate that when consumed in moderation, there’s no evidence of a harmful impact.

With news of the recent study making the rounds on social media, many people shared their own thoughts on the matter online.
On Reddit, one user wrote: “I refuse to use anything other than butter, tallow or olive oil while cooking.”
Another said: “Pick any food or human activity and you can find a doctor recommending against it.”
A third person joked: “A few years ago I saw a study that linked Oxygen and Cancer.”
