YouTuber claims he has been warned not to leave the USA if he wants to return

He has slammed President Trump's citizenship policies

One popular YouTuber has ripped into US President Donald Trump's citizenship and immigration policy in a new video, detailing how he was warned not to leave the country as he could encounter issues upon his return.

While Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency have taken the lion's share of headlines in the month's following Donald Trump's return to office, recent weeks have seen the president's policies take center stage.

America's economy was thrust into the unknown following Trump's wild tariff plan, which experts claim could significantly alter the future of many of the country's key industries, but his approach to citizenship, immigration, and deportation has been a major point of criticism for many.

There have been countless reports of valid visas and green cards being revoked by the United States government for what is deemed as unsatisfactory behavior, and significant controversy surrounding the deportation of certain individuals to extreme prisons in El Salvador without due process.

One YouTuber has now outlined that the dangers presented by the current administration now extend even towards naturalized citizens of the United States, as he has been warned by experts not to leave the country if he wishes to avoid complications upon his return.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, David Pakman immigrated to America with his family at just five years old, and became an official US citizen at 16 following his parents successful process.

Despite having lived in the country for 36 years and been an official citizen for nearly 70% of that time, Pakman has now been advised by immigration experts that returning back to America from a trip abroad might be "unpredictably uncomfortable or uncomfortably unpredictable."

While it hasn't quite reached the stage where US citizens like Pakman are at risk of deportation or have been denied entry with no recourse, there are multiple reports of individuals being interrogated for hours, separated by their families and intimidated by border control officers despite having done nothing wrong.

Pakman reveals that he's been told by lawyers to "have legal representation lined up, know exactly which immigration lawyer you will call, and that they will be able to take your call in case you end up in one of these situations."

He also points out the contradiction and hypocracy currently on display by many of Trump's supports, highlighting the furore that was displayed during COVID over the requirement of negative tests, isolation periods, and proof of vaccinations upon reentry into the country by American citizens, yet there is silence when the same is happening here.

"And now those same people are dead silent while naturalized citizens are being flagged, delayed, interrogated and sometimes even separated from families at the border for hours just for coming back to a country where they have citizenship. So apparently it's only tyranny when it applies to them," Pakman remarks.

Many in the comments underneath the video are equally in shock and outraged at what Pakman and other individuals in similar situations are having to go through during the current Trump administration.

"I am a 70 year old disabled veteran," writes the top comment, explaining that "this is not the country I served in uniform." Countless other comments echo similar sentiments.

Intriguingly, Elon Musk would equally fall under these same warnings, having been born in South Africa, obtained Canadian naturalized citizenship, and then finally became a United States citizen in 2002 - which is the main reason why he can't run for President, despite previous candidates exploiting a loophole.
