Trump official leaves people in disbelief as he accidentally makes shock admission about Moon landing

Some have speculated whether the US Army Secretary has accidentally revealed secret information

A Trump official has left people in disbelief after he 'accidentally' made a shocking admission about the moon landing.

This happened when US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll appeared on TV to promote the Army’s upcoming 250th anniversary parade which will take place tomorrow (June 14) in Washington DC.

Speaking in a live broadcast to Fox News, Driscoll made a comment that there was a US soldier stationed on the moon as he listed the various missions that the Army undertakes.

He said: “The country gets to see all of the amazing things that the Army has done, whether it’s helping with floods in North Carolina, or wildfires in California, or we talked to an astronaut yesterday who’s on the moon, who’s a soldier.”

This caused quite a stir on social media, with some speculating whether the official had accidentally revealed top secret information.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one user wrote: “Did he just slip up? Is it more Pentagon disinformation? That is quite the statement to make.”

Another said: “Greatest Freudian slip ever? ‘Soldier on the moon’.”

And a third person added: “What the hell did I just hear?”

Others questioned whether the US is secretly expanding its occupation in space.

However, other users noted that Driscoll appeared to have accidentally said the moon instead of NASA’s International Space Station (ISS) after he had previously spoken to Army Colonel Anne McClain, who is a NASA astronaut currently stationed on the ISS.

Speaking to her, Driscoll said: “Colonel, when I took this job, one of the things everybody told me was, ‘you will not believe the number of things that the US Army and its soldiers do’.

“And nearly every day, I’ve been surprised by something new. But you have absolutely taken the cake for having the coolest and most unique job of any soldier I’ve talked to so far.”

President Donald Trump has also spoken about the upcoming parade, saying to the press: “It’s going to be a parade, the likes of which, I don’t know if we’ve ever had a parade like that. It’s going to be incredible.

“We have air, even though it’s the Army, we have a lot of those Army airplanes flying over the top, and we have tanks all over the place, and we have thousands and thousands of soldiers going to bravely march down the streets. It’s going to be a beautiful day, I think.”
