President Donald Trump is set to give a national address to the public from 9pm tonight in order to deliver an ‘important update’ to the nation's citizens.
This comes just weeks after the president authorized the bombing of Iran to begin, with both Trump and Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu suggesting that they hoped to destroy any of Iran’s nuclear weaponry.
Taking to social media yesterday (March 31), White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “TUNE IN: Tomorrow night at 9PM ET, President Trump will give an Address to the Nation to provide an important update on Iran.”
Throughout March, tensions in the Middle East have been rising as war has raged on in Iran.

Incidents have included the bombing of an Iranian girls school, which resulted in the deaths of 180 people, many of whom were children aged between seven and 12.
Trump’s address tonight will be broadcast live across all four major US networks, CBS, ABC, NBC and Fox, beginning at 9 pm ET.
The president has previously claimed that he aims to ensure that Iran ‘cannot continue to arm, fund and direct terrorist armies outside of their borders’.
Trump also stated that the US had assumed ‘major combat operations’ against Iran.
Both the US and Israel have continued their airstrikes on Iran in recent weeks, with Trump writing multiple posts on social media seemingly threatening more action.

In one post, he wrote: “If Iran does anything that stops the flow of Oil within the Strait of Hormuz, they will be hit by the United States of America TWENTY TIMES HARDER than they have been hit thus far.
“Additionally, we will take out easily destroyable targets that will make it virtually impossible for Iran to ever be built back, as a Nation, again — Death, Fire, and Fury will reign upon them — But I hope, and pray, that it does not happen! This is a gift from the United States of America to China, and all of those Nations that heavily use the Hormuz Strait.
“Hopefully, it is a gesture that will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
Today, UK prime minister Keir Starmer held a press conference in Downing Street where he suggested that the UK would not be getting involved in the Iran conflict under any circumstances.
Australian PM Anthony Albanese has also addressed his citizens to speak about the current geopolitical tensions and wide unrest.
