A popular YouTuber is urging people to avoid Google Pixel 9a due to the smartphone having a ‘flaw detrimental to humanity’.
Zack Nelson, better known online as @JerryRigEverything, posted a video onto YouTube where he gave his honest review of the new smartphone.
In the video description, it read: “The Pixel 9a has a flaw detrimental to humanity as a whole.”

So, what was the major issue that the tech content creator noticed with the new device?
It turns out that Google uses glue to hold the battery in place, making it very difficult to remove.
Nelson explained: “The reason I would suggest not buying the Pixel 9a this year is because Pixel’s still doing something that every other smartphone manufacturer has successfully quit doing.
“Apple has quit, Samsung quit doing it, Red Magic and OnePlus never did it… But Google on this Pixel 9a still has the world’s most garbage battery removal system on the planet.”

The YouTuber went on to say that he ‘cannot say enough bad things about’ the battery removal procedure for the phone.
He added: “Honestly I hope whoever green lit this battery attachment style steps in a puddle of
water while wearing socks.
“Permanent glue is a giant middle finger to recycling and the planet.

“Google says their aluminum frame is made from 100% recycled materials but like the only way they got that recycled aluminum in the first place is because other manufacturers didn’t contaminate the raw material by permanently adhering other elements to it.
“Separation is the first step to recycling and until Google fixes their battery mounting procedure and gets rid of this glue and worthless pull straps, I can’t recommend their phones to anyone
because no matter how many years of updates the phone gets, it’ll still need to be recycled at some point.”
In the video description, Nelson went on to say: “There is no need for this excessive glue. Stop it.

Many users took to the YouTube comment section to share their own reactions to the review.
One user wrote: “This is a huge issue. The old phones with the easily removable/swappable batteries had it right.”

Another said: “Remember the good old times when dropping your phone risked the battery disassembling from it like legos.”
And a third person added: “Remember the ancient times when batteries used to be replaceable…”
