Man reveals dramatic physical changes he's seen to his body after following one meal a day diet

There are major concerns about the OMAD plan

With Robert F. Kennedy vowing to 'Make America Healthy Again', the Secretary of Health and Human Services is aiming to tackle processed food and the country's obesity crisis.

We've seen a recent rise in weight loss drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy, and although there are plenty of celebrity backers, others are sticking to more traditional methods to shift those extra pounds.

We've seen everything from Atkins to Mediterranean, keto to veganism, but another popular one is reducing your intake to just one meal a day.

Over on Reddit, one user has explained how he slashed his calories as part of the One Meal a Day (OMAD) diet.

Some might question why or how you'd cut your food back to one meal, with critics pointing out it'll come in well below the healthy amount of food you're told to eat in a day.

According to the OP, he went from intermittent fasting for six months and then decided to try OMAD.

If you're craving a greasy burger and chips as a way to get your calories, you might be out of luck.

Doing one meal a day might sound hard enough as it is, but imagine if you can't have sugar, rice, bread, or other carbs.

The diet is similar to keto, with any form of carbs coming from natural vegetables and fruits. It's not all doom and gloom, as they added: "I do coffee in the AM and some tea in the afternoon. I feel super hungry by about 6 but found that I really don't eat much when I sit down. A few bites can hold me over until the next day.

“I did also did try a psuedo 48 hour run. ( had about 100 calories over 2 days). Not as hard as you think. I could probably make it 3. Eventually I want to get to a 48 hour fast a week, or even two. I found for me, getting started on the weekend was easiest.”

The idea of having just 100 calories over two days is an alarming number, especially considering the average man should be consuming 2,500 calories a day and 2,000 a day for women. Considering an average banana has around 90 calories, effectively splitting that over two days is wild.

The Redditor concluded: "For me it is for weight loss. Regardless of what anyone tells you. Everything is about reducing calories. You don't need an app, special diet plan, etc I am down 35 lbs. Still have 80 to go but it no longer seems impossible. Basically, you just need to reprogram your brain to not use food as reward, pleasure, etc. It is simply a fuel to keep going."

There are obvious concerns about the One Meal a Day plan, and before you consider trying it, you're advised to speak to your doctor.
