'Hawk Tuah Girl' 'suspended on X' just days after making social media return following scandal

She's set to be the star of a new documentary

Things are going from bad to worse for Haliey "Hawk Tuah Girl" Welch, with the internet personality being suspended from X just days after she returned to the platform. Going viral following a June 2024 video where she made the iconic, "You gotta give 'em that 'hawk tuah' and spit on that thang,' line, Welch has since used her 15 seconds of fame to release a podcast, AI-powered dating app, and even a short-lived cryptocurrency venture.

Unfortunately for Welch, releasing her $HAWK meme coin was a disastrous venture that saw her being accused of running a scam, being branded as 'disgusting', and quickly vanishing from the limelight. After $HAWK soared to a $490 million market cap within hours of launch on December 4, it tanked just as quickly and lost 95% of its value.

Welch had only returned to social media, using it to make the surprise announcement that she'll supposedly be the focus of an upcoming documentary. Sadly, she wasn't around for long, with it looking like she's been suspended from X.

If you head to her profile, it now states: "Account suspended... X suspends accounts which violate the X rule."

It's unclear why she's been suspended, and with Elon Musk's notoriously lax rules on X, it's pretty hard to get suspended over there these days.

Welch's last post before this was on December 20, while her Talk Tuah podcast has been quiet since December 3.

It comes after Welch says she was cleared by a probe into her meme coin, telling TMZ: "For the past few months, I've been cooperating with all the authorities and attorneys, and finally, that work is complete."

Her lawyer, James Sallah, added: "The SEC closed the investigation without making any findings against, or seeking any monetary sanctions from, Haliey.”

"Because they did not bring any action against her, there are no restrictions on what she can do in regards to crypto or securities in the future."

While we assume that Welch will still be the subject of a documentary about her, it remains unclear what she could've done to get herself suspended from X.

When the news was shared on X, many are clearly still angry at her for the entire situation.

One angry critic wrote: "Good. Even if she was completely oblivious to what she was getting into her ignorance cost a lot of people a lot of money, when many of them just thought they'd be supporting her. Everyone involved in that scam should do time."

Another added: "Yeah! Only Elon and Trump can pump and dump!"

A third chuckled: "Elon banning someone for a meme crypto coin is hilarious. My man bought the US govt to open an agency named after his meme crypto coin."

Many say that others involved in meme coins are allowed to freely roam X, although the likes of President Donald Trump haven't technically been involved in a crypto scandal quite like Welch.
