The battle lines were drawn long ago, but by the looks of it, neither President Donald Trump nor Elon Musk is willing to retreat.

The President of the United States and his so-called First Buddy might've looked like the perfect bromance to lead the USA into a new era, but with them both being such big personalities, many correctly clocked that things were going to fall apart.

Elon Musk looked like he'd bagged himself a lucrative position at Donald Trump's side, although his departure from the Department of Government Efficiency was the beginning of the end for the once dynamic duo.

Musk famously took aim at Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, and while the latter claims it was due to his withdrawal of the electric vehicle mandate, the world's richest man made a series of explosive posts on X.

Most memorably, Musk claimed the POTUS was listed in unreleased portions of the Epstein files and then walked back these allegations when he said he went 'too far'.

Now that the OBBBA has sailed through the Senate, both Trump and Musk are back to poke the hornet's nest.

After Musk vowed to start his brand-new America Party in opposition to the Democrats and Republicans, Trump responded by referring to the tech billionaire as a 'trainwreck' who had gone 'off the rails'.

While Trump has previously wished Musk well, he'd also suggested he has no plans to reignite their friendship. It already feels like there have been numerous final nails in the coffin, and now, Musk has responded to the President's 'trainwreck' post.

Someone shared a picture of Trump's Truth Social musings, then added the "I ain't reading all that" meme text. Musk retweeted the joke and then wrote underneath: "Pretty funny, but actually I didn’t respond at all 😂."

In the replies, there was a mix of jokes and concern. After all, we've already had Trump saying he'd look into deporting Musk.

One person wrote: "Elon, are you ok?"

Another added: "Haha sometimes not replying is the real power move just like Superman staying calm till the last moment your chill energy is next level."

A third said: "You actually did by reposting that 🤷‍♀️ the truth in jest."

Others say he responded several times, and when the post originally went out, Musk wrote, "What's Truth Social?" to mock Trump's X rival. He then sniped, "Never heard of it," as a parting jibe.

He's also continued to post about it elsewhere, again responding to someone's post of what Trump said as Musk mused: "What the heck was the point of @DOGE if he’s just going to increase the debt by $5 trillion??"

There's been plenty of mud being thrown from both sides, but something tells us this probably won't be the last barbs the two former friends will be exchanging online.
