There's another seemingly embarrassing social media faux pas from the current administration, as the White House once again attempts to prove how its official social media accounts are 'down with the kids'.
Despite being something of a technophobe and once boasting that his own son was a genius because he knew how to turn on a laptop, Donald Trump is trying to show he's tech-savvy by embracing the evolution of artificial intelligence.
This has led to a series of bizarre posts, like him seemingly being portrayed as the villainous Sith of Star Wars, mocking House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries with the YMCA, and dumping AI poop on protestors from an AI jet.
Most recently, the Trump administration has been branded a 'joke' when it updated the official White House timeline to include a series of Democrat scandals. Just when we thought we'd seen it all, Trump is now accused of taking credit for ending a 25-year war.

With fears about what's going on between Palestine and Israel, as well as continued concerns that Russia could be about to trigger World War III, there are more than a few raised eyebrows that the White House is taking credit for ending the 'console wars' between Microsoft and Sony. The first Xbox was released back in 2001, and since then, it's duked it out continuously with the various PlayStation models.
Poking fun at the fact that the OG Halo game is finally being released on the PS5, gaming retailer GameStop shared a meme congratulating the POTUS for ending the console wars. It all started when GameStop posted a tongue-in-cheek manifesto outlining reasons the console wars are over. The White House's Rapid Response X account chimed in, saying, "NUMBER 9: President Trump presides over the end of the 20-year Console Wars."
The company shared its own AI depiction of President Trump shaking hands with Halo's Master Chief at the White House, before the official White House account created an AI version of Trump in Master Chief's iconic armor.

The memes soon started flowing, including a hilarious GameStop post that turned the chubby-faced JD Vance meme into Halo's beloved Cortana. It might all be a bit of fun, but it comes as GameStop stock leaped by 7.4% to $25.03 in pre-market trading. It's faced particularly volatile stock movement since the start of 2025, with prices down 25%.
Even if the White House was trying to show it's got its finger on the pulse of pop culture, it's again been called out for promoting AI and unserious matters at a time the world is in political turmoil.

If the fact that the flag in the foreground has 40 stars instead of 50 wasn't enough to irk many, one person raged: "Master chief would never f**king be associated with MAGA lmao. You are the covenant. Evil, theocratic fascists."
Another added: "12-year-olds running the government."
A third grumbled: "Sooo nothing about the economy, healthcare, infrastructure, or foreign policy? just video games, medieval theme ice recruitment ads, and ballrooms huh?"
With the current administration facing a barrage of complaints, now might not be the best time to take credit for ending non-existent wars when actual ones are still ongoing.
