There are still three more years of President Donald Trump's second term in office, and while there are whole countdown clocks websites ticking away his 'final' term, there's fresh speculation it might not actually be that final.
After initially serving from January 2017 to January 2021, the businessman became one of the increasing number of presidents who served a second terms when he beat Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.
Taking over from Joe Biden, Donald Trump returned to the Oval Office as the 47th President of the United States and wasted no time in championing artificial intelligence, rolling out plans for a Golden Dome, and even launching his own cryptocurrency.

The POTUS continues to try and prove he's more tech-savvy than his predecessors, but with it, he's been criticized for an overreliance on AI. As well as claims that he used ChatGPT to create his somewhat baffling trade tariffs, he was also mocked for a Star Wars-inspired post that seemed to paint him as a villainous Sith.
Now, the president has shared another AI creation that hints he could try to run again in 2027. With Donald Trump already being the oldest president ever to be elected at the start of his 2025 term, could the 79-year-old really want to continue being Commander-in-Chief well into his '80s?
The 22nd Amendment prevents anyone from serving more than two terms as President of the United States, so after securing victory in 2016 and 2024, this should be Trump's final run.
US representative Andy Ogles has already called for a change to the Constitution's rule on third terms, while Trump himself has previously discussed the idea and even sold Trump 2028 merchandise.

Posting on Truth Social, the incumbent President of the United States shared an AI video of him throwing a 'Trump 2028' hat onto the head of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries as he was accompanied by The Village People's "Y.M.C.A."
The deluge of AI propaganda continued, as another video showed him standing on a mountaintop while wearing a cape, with a third featuring budget director Russell Vought as the Grim Reaper. Parodying "(Don't Fear) The Reaper," the video included Trump on a cowbell and Vice President JD Vance playing he drums.
In April 2025, Reuters suggested that a third Trump term isn't too popular, stating: "Three-quarters of respondents said Trump should not run for a third term in office — a path Trump has said he would like to pursue, though the U.S. Constitution bars him from doing so.

"A majority of Republican respondents — 53% — said Trump should not seek a third term."
Trump continues to lean heavily into meme culture, sharing videos from the Dilley Meme Team. Referring to itself as 'Trump's online war machine', the site explains: "Our content generates millions and millions of views.
"Often shared by the man himself, and played at the rallies, we've been fighting fake narratives of the commies and fascists for years - BY ANY MEMES NECESSARY."
Is all of this just the start of his Trump 2028 campaign?
