After Denise Richards opened up about her $200,000 facelift, her surgeon has explained the advanced technique behind the transformation.
The star of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills shared that she had been ‘terrified’ when going through with the procedure as it was the first invasive thing she had done to her face.
During an appearance on The Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg Show, Richards revealed that her decision to open up about the surgery was down to her ex bringing it up in court.

Speaking to Allure, she said: “Being in the public eye since my 20s, people know what I look like - a facelift is not something that I could hide.”
Richards continued: “He said something in court about it on purpose. I figured, you know what? I just need to be honest."
“I was so pleasantly surprised because there was media in there that didn’t print it, which was nice.”

Praising her surgeon, Richards said he ‘did such a great job on me that I wanted to share the information’.
What procedure did Denise Richards’ have for her facelift?
Richards’ surgeon, Dr Ben Talei, shares information about the AuraLyft on his page for the Beverly Hills Center for Plastic and Laser Surgery, which explains how it is designed with an approach that a ‘natural result and a significant one are not opposites’.

The ‘comprehensive deep plane facelift’ releases the skin from the retaining ligaments and ‘lifts the deeper tissues as a single, supported unit’.
The site continues: “Because the foundation itself is repositioned, the skin is simply redraped over it without tension, which is what keeps the result natural and the incisions discreet.

“A single AuraLyft® can address the entire neck, jawline, and cheeks, as well as the area beneath the eyes and the temporal region lateral to the brow. For many patients, repositioning their own tissue restores midface volume that other approaches try to recreate with fillers or fat - meaning a fully rejuvenated face is often achieved without ancillary injectables. Incisions are hidden and tend to become difficult to detect, and the face is never left looking pulled or stretched.”
On her choice to share that she has had this procedure done, Richards added that she didn’t want to give her ex the ‘power’ of making it public, so she decided to be open about it on her own terms.
Richards said: “I didn’t know how people would react, but I think I want to know what everyone’s doing.”
