A major streamer has announced that he will not be attending TwitchCon after the Charlie Kirk shooting.
The political commentator was killed while on stage earlier this month at Utah Valley University (UVU) as part of his ‘American Comeback’ tour.
Kirk was shot in the neck while addressing the 3,000-strong crowd and later died from his injuries.
After an FBI manhunt, 22 year old Tyler Robinson was arrested under suspicion of the shooting and at his first appearance in court, he heard that prosecutors would be seeking the death penalty.

Now Hasan Piker, a political streamer who goes live on Twitch as HasanAbi, has revealed that he will no longer be attending TwitchCon due to the incident.
Piker had been scheduled to debate Kirk just two weeks after his death with the streamer reacting to the news while live, saying at the time: “This is the ultimate fear ... for a political commentator, this is it, this is the thing that you don't want happening; this is the thing that you never want happening.

“For the record, there are a s*** ton of people celebrating this, as well. I am not - for obvious reasons.
“This is what a lot of people fantasize happening to me all the f--king time and say they will do to me all the f***ing time.”
Now, Piker has said that he won’t be attending the Twitch event for the safety of other people around him.
Breaking the news, he responded to a viewer saying they missed him being ‘social’ by saying: “There is unfortunately an obvious setback there because of 1. all the political incidents that have taken place and 2. how those political incidents have had some pretty significant consequences in how much I can go out in the real world and socialize with other people.

“As I said already, I’m not going to TwitchCon not because I’m worried about my own safety but I’m literally not going to TwitchCon because I’m worried about the safety of others. I don't want to put them in the f***ing crosshairs, if some some psycho freak decides like I'm going to go there.
“I’m very publicly not going to TwitchCon for that reason so do with that information what you will.”
Kirk’s memorial took place on September 21 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, with speakers including President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Kirk’s wife, Erika Kirk.
