Man makes eerie discovery on Google Earth that ‘no one has seen before’ and explores it in person in intense video

The area looked hardly touched by humans

YouTuber who goes by thePOVchannel goes to incredible lengths to satisfy his curiosity, and this video took things to new heights.

The channel is known for posting in-depth footage of ambitious expeditions where the poster comes across interesting sights and locations with his trusty dog in tow.

A video from the end of 2023 shows our host heading out to investigate a suspicious location he discovered on Google Earth, one that required a serious hike to get to and that likely hasn’t been explored in centuries.

He hiked over a large expanse of ‘petrified sand dunes’, picking his way through the landscape carefully to avoid tumbling into treacherous canyons or slipping down rocky slopes.

After a while, he discovered the structure he was aiming for, where he found some unusual lines marked out in the sandstone he was walking on.

Cavers would be impressed too, as he found plenty of unusual caves within the rock faces. The real star of the show though, was a gigantic rock jutting up out of the red landscape.

He begun to climb the huge chunk of sandstone, along with his adorable dog.

The most shocking discovery in the video however, is when he finds a ginormous sandstone arch or tunnel that appeared to have been eroded, possible by a dried-up river.

The mysterious tunnel was at least 25 feet long and hugely tall. It ends in a stunningly smooth sandstone bowl, full of pockmarked hole that resemble birds’ nests.

What sets this location apart from others similar, is that it seems to have been almost completely untouched by humans in some time. Everything appears unspoiled and it’s entirely off the beaten track.

The comment section was just as impressed as us. One person wondered: "Is it possible you are the first human in thousands of years to see and walk through that arch/tunnel?"

Others were simply grateful to thePOVchannel for taking trips like this, one saying: “Obviously the vast overwhelming majority of people will never ever venture to such places. That is why I applaud you for taking us along to see sights we would otherwise never see. Thank you and your dog...Thumbs Up!"

You can sense the awe behind the camera when our host comes across the immense scenes he does in this video. Once he sees the jaw-dropping sites, he goes completely quiet — taking in the views, and letting you enjoy them too as if you were there.

It’s an incredibly soothing watch. Next time you can’t sleep, pop this video on (you’re welcome).
