Erika Kirk has made a shocking admission during an appearance on a talk show about the moment she found out her husband Charlie had been assassinated.
The widow of the late political commentator has spoken out during an interview for the The Megyn Kelly Show where she recalled discovering that he had been shot.
Charlie was addressing a 3,000 strong crowd at Utah Valley University (UVU) in September when he was fatally shot in the neck.
Erika, 37, has previously talked about her sadness over not getting to kiss her husband goodbye before he was killed.

Speaking to Kelly, she recalled how she was ‘praying to God’ for something in the moments after Charlie fell.
She received a call at 11.23am from Charlie’s assistant to tell her the bad news, but Erika recalled how she could already tell something disastrous had happened.
In a preview of the show posted on X, formerly Twitter, Kelly asked Turning Points USA’s new CEO: “You told me this in private - how many kids did you want to have?”

To which Kirk revealed that they ‘wanted to have four’, before sharing that, the moment she heard her husband had been shot, she hoped for a surprise ray of light.
“And I was praying to God that I was pregnant when he got murdered,” she told Kelly.
This was also something the independent podcaster had been considering after Kirk was shot, while police and federal agents hunted his alleged 22-year-old assassin Tyler Robinson.
Kelly said: “Oh, wow. I thought of that once... Whether it was meant to be or whether we’d get news like that.”

With less than two months since the fatal shooting, Erika began to get emotional as she considered the loss of their hopes for a larger family.
“I know,” she said, wiping tears from her eyes.
“I was like, ‘oh, goodness, that was going to be the ultimate blessing out of this catastrophe’. So, now when I see young couples, I tell them, ‘Please, don’t put it off’.”

Charlie’s widow added with urgency: “Especially if you’re a young woman. Don’t put it off, you can always have a career, you can always, you know, go back to work. You can never just go back to having children. And they grow so fast and so quickly, but I just, I was praying. Both of us were. We were just excited to just expand our family.”
In another section of the emotive interview, Kelly asked if the tragedy ever made her angry at God.
To which Erika said: “The enemy would love for me to be angry.”
Adding: “He would love it because it would distract me from building what Charlie entrusted to me.
