President Donald Trump’s golden phone has everyone now talking about his $640 ‘Rump’ watch scandal.

The Trump Organization recently unveiled the new T1 Phone which runs on Trump Mobile network.

The gold-finished device has a similar visual design to that of the iPhone and will set customers back by $499, which is significantly lower than industry giants including Apple and Samsung.

Donald Trump Jr. said: “Trump Mobile is going to change the game, we’re building on the movement to put America first, and we will deliver the highest levels of quality and service.”

However, the latest product on sale by the president has got people remembering his watch scandal, when Trump tried to sell off branded watches for $640 a pop.

But when customers received their orders, they were shocked to discover there was an obvious typo, spelling out ‘Rump’ instead of Trump.

According to a report by GQ, one Rhode Island man, Tim Petit, shared his reaction upon receiving the watch, saying: “I thought it was really nice. It was beautiful, and I knew it would be something that she’d [his wife] like.”

But when it arrived, he was in disbelief, adding: “I’m very disappointed, I want it to be a special thing for her. And we had expected that it would have the integrity of the president of the United States and good follow-through.”

With many people taking to social media to share their reactions to the new Trump phone, one user recalled the watch on Reddit, writing: “Now if it comes spelled RUMP like the watch did... That would be great.”

Trump phones will track users with AI

Users were also shocked when one revealed that the Trump Mobile ‘would track users through AI’.

In response, one person wrote: “Even the most diehard Trump supporters will not buy the phone because of this.”

Another said: “My feeling here is that if they want to stick their faces into the leopard cage, let them. Buy that phone, MAGAs, it’ll be fine.”

A third joked: “Valuable profiling information on all 13 users.”

And a fourth user added: “Donald released this entire fake mobile phone business thing just to figure out how to track where Melania spends most of her time.”

According to the Trump Mobile website, AI systems will be used to collect data given ‘directly or indirectly through your interactions with the Trump Mobile Services’.

The site goes on to detail how AI might also be used in order to make automated decisions, such as ‘content curation and recommendations’ and for fraud detection to ‘identify and flag unusual activity’.
