Much of what happens behind the scenes in global politics never actually comes to light as various world leaders work out the best deal for all parties, yet one major slip at a recent White House meeting has allowed Donald Trump's view of Vladimir Putin to be exposed.
The ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine has been one of the dominant issues across the world since it officially began in February 2022, and while there is seemingly movement towards a resolution right now, it continues to remain unsolved.
Ukraine has received the financial and military support of some of the globe's biggest nations, and has also benefited from the help of Elon Musk's Starlink to maintain connection, although some might argue that the United States has been more of a hinderance since Trump returned to power in January.

This appeared to culminate in a fiery exchange between Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and both Trump and Vice President JD Vance in the White House earlier this year, which followed with suggestions that America should leave NATO.
However, there has been another major moment upon Zelenskyy's return to the White House, as President Trump was heard uttering a 'crazy' whisper about Russian President Vladimir Putin on a hot mic during the meeting.
What was Trump heard whispering about Putin?
As reported by the Independent, Trump was speaking to French President Emmanuel Macron shortly before calling all of the major European leaders to sit down for the meeting, and he likely didn't realize that the microphones had already been turned on.

Speaking to Macron, Trump whispered: "I think he wants to make a deal. I think he wants to make a deal for me. Do you understand? As crazy as it sounds."
This is clearly in reference to Trump's recent talks with Putin that took place in Alaska last week, where various deal conditions for ending the war and invasion were discussed by the pair.
Putin allegedly desires parts of Ukraine that he has so far failed to invade as part of the deal, which Zelenskyy is obviously unwilling to hand over, and there have been suggestions that Trump would be willing to grant Russia access to natural resources in Alaska — hence the location of the meeting.

While no deal was achieved following the meeting, Trump had revealed that he believed the talks to be positive, and these new whispers certainly support that too.
What the 'deal' that Trump is whispering to Macron about actually amounts to is currently unclear, and there still has to be cooperation from Zelenskyy who rightfully won't want to concede anything after being at war for over three years.
