Police have revealed exactly what three words were said to them when they apprehended Morgan Geyser, after they apprehended the woman convicted of a horrific Slenderman stabbing following her recent escape over the weekend.

Many people across history have become motivated to commit crimes after engaging with various forms of media, but few are quite as horrific as the case of then 12-year-old Morgan Geyser, who took inspiration from the horror figure known as 'Slenderman'.

Created in 2009 by Eric Knudsen on the Something Awful forum, Slenderman was an alien-like supernatural horror figure originating as a 'creepypasta' meme that eventually became the star of a popular game series and even a Hollywood film.

The figure of Slenderman possessed a featureless white face on a tall, thin body, and it notably always wore a black suit and sometimes even had multiple tentacle-like arms.

It became popular on social media and the internet at large following the release of 'Slender: The Eight Pages' in 2012, as the game saw players explore a remote forest during the night while Slenderman hunted them.

Two years after, a near-fatal stabbing inspired by Slender games prompted a major moral panic, as Morgan Geyser lured her friend Payton Leutner to a nearby wooded area and stabbed her 19 times with the encouragement of her friend Anissa Weier.

Both Geyser and Weier claimed that they were motivated to carry out the attack in order to appease Slenderman and prove that he was real, and even told investigators that they feared he would attack their families if they didn't follow through.

Geyser was eventually found not guilty by mental disease or defect in 2017, and was committed to a nearby mental health institution with a sentence of 40 years to life, but was recently sent to a group home upon conditional release, with the stipulation of an electronic monitoring device.

Police were alerted that Geyser's monitoring device had been deactivated on Saturday night though, and later discovered that she had managed to escape the group home and was currently missing.

They eventually found her at a truck stop in Posen, Illinois, as per ABC News, and officials have now revealed the chilling words that Geyser said to those who managed to take her in.

"The female repeatedly refused to provide her real name and initially gave a false one," police explained. "After continued attempts to identify her, she finally stated that she didn't want to tell officers who she was because she had 'done something really bad', and suggested that officers could 'just Google' her name."

It was revealed that Geyser and a companion that she was traveling with had taken a bus from Wisconsin to Posen following her escape, and she is now being held pending transfer to Cook County for an extradition hearing.

Both Geyser's mother and attorney had pleaded for Morgan to give herself up to the police and let everyone know that she is safe while on the run, and thankfully it wasn't too long until the authorities located her.

A spokesperson for the Leutner family also confirmed that they were aware of the ongoing situation regarding Geyser's escape, and that they were "working closely with local law enforcement to ensure their continued safety."
