Your bucket list might just have got a little more expensive as the Louvre has just announced a Trump-inspired initiative to charge Americans more to visit the iconic art gallery, so you'll have to spend a little extra cash to see the Mona List next time you're in Paris.
It's already expensive enough for many Americans to make the trip over to a European country like France, yet one of the biggest tourist attractions in Paris is raising the prices for visitors from across the pond.
The Louvre is home to some of the world's most famous pieces of art, and is a major cultural hub that welcomes millions of visitors every single year. For many it's a must-visit spot if you're staying in Paris, and that's especially the case for Americans who might never get the chance to see something like the Mona Lisa ever again.
However, the art gallery's board has now announced that it is raising entry prices for Americans and other tourists from outside the European Union, and it's all because of a recent change by the Trump administration.

As reported by the Independent, this change is coming into place in order to raise funds for the institution, copying a similar plan implemented by Donald Trump that hiked the price of entry to national parks across the United States for non-American tourists.
Starting from January 14 next year, all visitors to the Louvre from outside the European Economic Area will have to now pay 32 euros (equivalent to around $37), which is a steep increase from the current ticket price of 22 euros, equivalent to around $26.
The museum will remain free-to-enter for all visitors under the age of 18, regardless of where they're coming from, and anyone under the age of 26 that is a citizen of an EEA nation will also see the ticket price waived.

Many have speculated that this is partially to do with the recent big-money heist that saw over $100 million worth of jewelry stolen from the museum, which was in part due to the flimsy security systems that were in place, including an incredibly easy-to-guess password.
Major renovations will also be taking place throughout the building costing around $1.3 billion in total, and the iconic Mona Lisa painting by Leonardo da Vinci is also set to move to a new exhibition space in a bid to fight overcrowing, but that's unlikely to dampen its popularity as people travel from all around the globe to see it with their own eyes.
