There’s only a few more hours to take advantage of Amazon’s Prime Day sale, with the four-day members-only shopping event coming to an end at midnight tonight (local time, Friday July 8).

Over the course of the week we’ve seen big savings on everything from laptops and TVs to cell phones and Amazon branded devices, like Kindles, Fire tablets and Alexa smart home devices.

But, if you’ve missed out on a specific deal or are looking for even bigger discounts, shoppers have found a secret Amazon warehouse that many of us probably won’t have heard of.

Let us introduce you to the little-known Amazon Resale section of the site. And once you’ve discovered it, we have a feeling you won’t want to pay full price - or close to it - ever again.

With discounts on gaming consoles, kitchen appliances, pet supplies, furniture and more, as well as a whole host of tech, here’s everything you need to know…

How does Amazon Resale work?

If you’ve not yet discovered this secret section of the Amazon website, you might be wondering how it all works, and why brands and products that you rarely see on sale - think Apple, for one - are so heavily discounted.

Well, products on this section of this site are all used, pre-owned or may not come with their original branded box or packaging.

But each item is thoroughly checked and tested, with the team providing a detailed description to allow you to shop with confidence.

One of the ways that they do this is by sorting the products into one of five categories:

  • Used - like new: Even though the packaging may have some damage, the item or product will be in perfect working condition.
  • Used - very good: This item may have minor cosmetic imperfections, be repackaged or missing some non-essential accessories. All of this will be noted under the item’s description, so you know exactly what to expect when it arrives at your front door.
  • Used - good: Similar to a very good item, it could be repackaged or missing some accessories, but it could also have some minor cosmetic damage or show wear from moderate use.
  • Used - acceptable: An acceptable item could have clear signs of usage but will still serve its main function. It may also be scratched, dented or worn, or missing some valuable components or accessories. This will be fully outlined in its description, though.
  • Used - as is: This item may have extensive wear or cosmetic imperfections, yet it will still serve its main function. Images of each item will show the exact condition, including any potential damage to the packaging.

As you might expect, the condition of each individual item can affect how large a discount you’ll get. And we always recommend having a good scroll through or keeping an eye on the Resale page to get the best deals possible.

If you’re not happy or satisfied with your purchase, you do have 30 days to return it, plus, you’ll still get the same level of customer service and delivery that you would expect from buying something from Amazon.

Unlike the main Amazon site, the inventory changes frequently. So, if you spot something at a good price, you might want to add it to your basket and check out sooner rather than later to avoid missing out. You never know when you’ll see a specific item at such a discount again.
