President Donald Trump has issued an urgent warning, where he shared what he believes is the one thing that could threaten the future of artificial intelligence.
This comes as the president sounded the alarm on his own social media platform Truth Social over the apparent threat of so-called ‘woke AI’.
In a post, Trump wrote: “Investment in AI is helping to make the U.S. Economy the ‘HOTTEST’ in the World, but overregulation by the States is threatening to undermine this Major Growth ‘Engine’.
Some States are even trying to embed DEI ideology into AI models, producing ‘Woke AI’ (Remember Black George Washington?).”

In a warning to his followers, the president continued: “We MUST have one Federal Standard instead of a patchwork of 50 State Regulatory Regimes. If we don’t, then China will easily catch us in the AI race. Put it in the NDAA, or pass a separate Bill, and nobody will ever be able to compete with America.”
It seems like making sure the development of AI happens on US soil is a major priority for Trump, who earlier this year announced the formation of a joint venture in the private sector known as the Stargate Project.
The initiative sees several major tech firms working together to build AI infrastructure in the US.

Companies involved in the project include the likes of OpenAI, SoftBank, Oracle and MGX.
In other AI news, the boss of Google issued a terrifying warning on the impact of AI.
Head of Google’s parent company Alphabet, Sundar Pichai, explained that while the growth of investments in artificial intelligence has been an ‘extraordinary moment’, there has been some ‘irrationality’ in the boom.
During an interview with BBC News, Pichai was asked about whether Google would be impacted by the AI bubble bursting, to which he replied: “I think no company is going to be immune, including us.”

While Pichai went on to acknowledge that the rise of AI will affect work in certain industries, he claimed that this is something ‘we will have to work through’, adding that it will ‘create new opportunities’.
The CEO continued: “It will evolve and transition certain jobs, and people will need to adapt.
“It doesn’t matter whether you want to be a teacher [or] a doctor. All those professions will be around, but the people who will do well in each of those professions are people who learn how to use these tools.”
