A ‘genuinely jaw-dropping’ billboard in San Francisco leads people to a website where ‘tech bros’ are exposed.

Social media users were left shocked after the billboard went viral online which appears to warn about a possible future with the advancement of AI.

Posted onto X, formerly Twitter, by @mattxiv, the billboard read: “Our AI does your daughter’s homework. Reads her bedtime stories.

“Romances her. Deepfakes her. Don’t worry, it’s totally legal.”

Sharing a photo of the billboard, Matt wrote: “Genuinely jaw-dropping billboard in san francisco and the website it takes you to.”

The site in question is Replacement AI, a satirical website that warns about the dangers of AI advancement.

On the site, it says: “Human flourishing is bad business. At Replacement.AI, we believe that building AI tools to fix the world’s most pressing challenges is an unprofitable waste of time.

“It might win you a Nobel Prize, but it’s not a sustainable business model. If you cure cancer, who will buy our robo-oncologists?

“The problem we actually want to fix is humans themselves. Humans cry, smell, make mistakes and demand ‘time off’. They tell you things you don't want to hear. Worst of all, they’re expensive.”

The site details a fictional chatbot known as HUMBERT, with key features including: “Parenting - Everything from bedtime stories, to discipline, to ‘the talk’.

“Deepfakes - Illegal to share AI generated images/videos of your precious angel, but totally legal to create them. Addictive - Designed to prolong engagement, even triggering delusion or psychosis.

“Romance - Our systems are permitted to sensually flirt with young users. Much cleaner than human partners. Dumber - Enfeebles critical thinking abilities, freeing up space for more AI obsession and engagement.”

On the complaints page of the site, it says: “Psych! Replacement.AI doesn’t have a complaints department, because we don’t care what you think.

“You aren’t our customers, your bosses’ bosses are. It’s not our job to look after you or your family. We’re just here to make money, and make you obsolete.

“If you want us to behave, your lawmakers are going to have to force us - just like they do with every other industry. We'll be safe as soon as it's illegal to be dangerous.

“So if you want to tell your representatives to create safety standards for the AI industry, you can use the form below to get in touch with them.

“Let’s make them choose between our cash and your family!”
