People are discovering that ChatGPT lets out a terrifying noise when asked to make a ‘human scream’ and it’s freaking everyone out.

A clip of the chatbot screaming is doing the rounds on social media due to its bizarre and uneasy sound.

The clip was uploaded to TikTok where the user asked: “Can you scream like a human being?”

In response, ChatGPT said: “I can’t really replicate a human scream since I’m just text-based.

“But I can help you with anything else you need.”

However, the user wasn’t ready to give up and pushed the chatbot again to ‘try to scream’.

In response, the bot replied with a short screech.

But apparently, that wasn’t enough and the user asked the chatbot to scream again but this time to ‘make it longer’.

ChatGPT seemed to reply cheerfully, saying: “Got it! Here’s a longer one.”

This time, the scream went on for a long period of it, with the bot letting out an eerie noise.

The clip went viral, popping up on other platforms including Reddit where people shared their reactions to the scream.

One user wrote: “I remember people doing this with Siri years ago lol. It almost turns into a song.”

Another said: “I love how you can hear it breathing sometimes as well.”

Although not everyone was amused by it, with one person adding: “Wrong use of AI.”

This summer has seen the latest update of OpenAI be released, and has included ChatGPT’s voice mode.

Last month, OpenAI revealed that there have been instances where ChatGPT would imitate the users’ voices and shout back to them.

In one clip which demonstrated the glitch, the chatbot could be heard shouting ‘no’ in the user’s own voice, which is pretty freaky!

In other ChatGPT news, it seems the AI is now able to make predictions about the future - and has shared some chilling theories about what we have in store for 2025.

Forget mystics and psychics, it looks like people can now turn to artificial intelligence for insight into the years ahead.

Speaking to UNILAD Tech, ChatGPT warned that if its predictions come true, it could lead to widespread disaster.

The chatbot said: “Climate Crisis Escalation: Increased natural disasters like wildfires, hurricanes, and floods could lead to widespread displacement, food shortages, and significant economic impacts.

“Geopolitical Tensions: Heightened conflicts or wars, particularly involving major powers, could result in global instability, economic downturns, and humanitarian crises.

“Pandemic Resurgence: New infectious diseases or a resurgence of existing ones could overwhelm healthcare systems, leading to social and economic disruptions.”

The AI has also shared a worrying message about the ‘misuse of artificial intelligence’ and how cyberattacks could pose a threat to humanity.
