There are broadly two camps when it comes to artificial intelligence (AI) - those who think it can be a power for good, and those who are worried about how it's going to devastatingly change our world forever.

There is, however, a third camp that might unite us all - the undeniable ways that AI can be used for silliness.

We're talking about the growing trend for using AI to generate hilarious - and often divisive - images of what the 'average person' is for something.

In the past, we've had AI's pictures of what Europeans think Americans from each state look like, and also the 'average person' from each popular job.

Is it a power for good? Nope. What about evil? Definitely not. It's more about making us laugh and stirring up conversation - particularly when AI gets something so wrong.

This time round, image-generating AI platform Midjourney has come up with the goods and visualized what it thinks the 'average' person looks like with a common first name.

Of course, it's something that's wildly subjective - but let's dig in and see what AI has dreamed up.

Starting strong with Anthony - we definitely buy this one, and have met a fair few Anthonys who give off this energy. What we would say is this is a classic AI picture where something feels slightly off - in this case, it's got to be Anthony's overtly dangly earring.

Then we've got Emma, who looks pretty similar to Emma Stone - maybe that's what AI was going for?

Here's Henry, who also stacks up pretty well, even if he does look rather mournful.

Mia looks devastatingly cool, which is pretty much in line with all the Mias we know.

The same goes for Sophia here, who's rocking a very on trend bob haircut (who knew AI was so down with hair trends?).

Things start going ever so slightly off the rails here with Olivia, whose hat is distractingly bad.

And while there's nothing wrong with this Charlotte, she just looks rather forgettable - something we're sure plenty of Charlottes out there would take a bit of an issue with.

Same goes for Michael - but we can't deny how creepily realistic this picture is.

Joseph is the only person to get a full body shot - and we're not sure why AI chose to do that, if only to show off Joseph's commitment to the beige-on-beige look.

And finally, rounding things out with David. We're sure there are some young Davids out there who might have a few bones to pick with this cravat-wearing older gentleman, but hey - he looks pretty spot on to us.
