First sitcom produced entirely by AI officially premieres on YouTube and viewers are split
AI enthusiasts have been arguing for years now that the tech would soon take over the entertainment industry, and we've now got a taste of what that might look like with the first fully generative sitcom on YouTube.
Created by Andrew Dickinson and produced by ModeLabs.ai, 'No Big Deal' boasts that its viewers can be part of TV history, as it's the world's first AI-made sitcom with the launch of its pilot episode.
Following a group of "hopelessly mismatched angel investors," No Big Deal aims to follow in the footsteps of industry-leading workplace sitcoms like The Office, 30 Rock, and The IT Crowd as its employees fund and mismanage "some of the worst business ideas ever conceived."
The first episode was released on September 11, 2026 and lasts 25 minutes in total, offering a considerable growth over other far-shorter AI projects released over the years, and potentially paving the way for people to create extra episodes of their own favorite shows in what some call a dream while others would brand this a nightmare.
How can you watch No Big Deal?
No Big Deal is seemingly exclusively available on YouTube right now and can be watched for no extra cost, although the first episode has only earned itself 630 views in the two days since it premiered.

The channel hosting the show – appropriately named No Big Deal – also only has 45 subscribers at the time of writing, but that could potentially grow as further episodes are released.
There's no indication of when the second episode will arrive, with a weekly format meaning that it would arrive this coming Friday, on September 18.
"Described as The Office meets Dragons' Den," the video's description boldly claims, "No Big Deal is a British workplace comedy [...] every character, every location, every scene — generated frame by frame."
How have people reacted to No Big Deal?
It's natural that those immediately drawn to a fully AI generated sitcom would be inclined to praise it, but even with little over 600 views the show has equally managed to attract a barrage of criticism and negative reviews too.
Several comments underneath the first episode on YouTube see people expressing their excitement for the second episode, with one even noting that it gave them 'South Park' vibes.
Those comments are matched by the disgust of others, however, with onlookers calling the AI generated show 'dystopian'.
One commenter revealed that they "watched 90 seconds of this and I feel like I am about to have a stroke. This is horrendous." No Big Deal did, however, have the courtesy to reply, writing: "Safe to say this one wasn't for you 😅 Thanks for giving it a try."
Another user declared that they sadly "do not have the time to list all of the things that are completely terrible about this," although No Big Deal still appreciated that they gave the show a watch.
