Gamers on the Xbox side of things will now be able to play one of the best horror games of all time, and they'll even be able to take advantage of an introduction discount, thanking them for their 'patience'.
Console exclusivity is a frustrating thing to deal with for most gamers, and while recent years have tended to favor the PlayStation side of things when it comes to great first-party games, it's never good to be locked out of playing something simply because of what 'side' you opted for.
While some titles do eventually make their way over to multiple platforms – even after decades of exclusivity like recent Xbox games that have made the jump to the blue side – others can remain exclusive forever, leaving fans waiting in hope for an announcement that'll likely never arrive.
Thankfully one of the most requested games that hasn't yet arrived on Xbox consoles has finally releasing, giving players access to one of the best games ever with a handy introductory discount as an apology for having to wait.

As reported by IGN, the Silent Hill 2 remake has ended a year-long wait for Xbox gamers as it's finally available on Microsoft's home console, with the game's official X account announcing a limited-time 50% off sale "to celebrate our community's passion and patience."

This is the first time that Xbox owners will have been able to play the iconic title in any form since the Silent Hill HD Collection was released on Xbox 360 back in 2012, and most people consider that to be an inferior version even to the original release.
While there was some reservation about the remake ahead of its launch last year, it turned out to be an incredible reimagining of what some people consider to be the best game ever made, and is one of the scariest titles that you can play regardless of release date.

If you've never had the opportunity to play it before then you'd be silly not to immediately jump in, and although fans with PlayStation Plus subscriptions can download the game for free right now, that 50% off sale is certainly doing a lot to make the game accessible to everyone.

You might want to reserve a spot behind the sofa though, as you'll be spending a lot of time there when exploring the horrific environments that await James Sunderland in the forgotten mist-filled town of Silent Hill.
