One gamer seemingly received a rather alarming message during a long play session, as they were temporarily banned from playing and told to 'take a shower' by the developers.
It has become a bit of an unfortunate stereotype that gamers are prone to long sessions, often overnight and in the dark, and often without taking breaks to clean themselves.
While it's not necessarily the case for most people that play games, there are a select few that take things to the next level, and are frequently told to 'touch grass' by their friends and family.
This is especially true when any big multiplayer game releases or a new season drops, causing some gamers to play for extremely long periods of time, often stretching into double digits.

An image from the recently released Battlefield 6 is now circulating social media though, and it supposedly shows a warning a player received to 'take a shower', alongside a temporary ban that forces them to stand up from their gaming chair and go get some fresh air.
As reported by Indy100, this message states 'Take A Shower' in big letters at the top, before reading: "You have been playing for 16 hours straight and we cannot allow you to continue onto Battlefield 6 servers.
"We have restricted your account for a few hours please take a break. We have an obligation to keep our players and community safe. This ban is only temporary please try again soon."
There is also a QR code that the banned player can scan to learn more information, alongside two buttons below which read 'Restricted' and 'Quit'.
Predictably many have found this hilarious, poking fun at the prospect of someone playing for that long, alongside the boldness of a developer supposedly telling its players that they smell.
However, it's almost guaranteed that this image has been digitally altered or is completely fake as clear mistakes and errors are clear to see, as shared by Insider Gaming.
First and foremost, the notion of a developer as big as EA directly telling its players to take a shower is hard to believe, but there are also obvious grammatical inconsistencies and errors throughout.
Not only is there a space before the 'You' at the start of the message, but there are also a number of missing commas that would be present in official messaging for a game of this scale.

What's more, while it would make sense for a 'Quit' button to appear alongside a message like this, the top 'Restricted' button simply makes no sense, and implies that little care has been put into the details of this likely AI-generated image.
Finally, the nail in the coffin for this image is the QR code, as it simply doesn't work and leads to nothing, proving that this is fake.
While many of the jokes surrounding this image have been dampened by the revelation that it's fake, it does prompt a good message for people that lean towards longer gaming sessions, as making sure you stay clean and healthy should be the most important thing regardless of how much you're enjoying a new release, and you shouldn't need an in-game warning to remind you otherwise.
