Update February 6 – Epic Games has replied on X, releasing the following statement: "Hey Official Fortnite here - this was a ruse by a Fortnite player. A few days ago, an existing Fortnite account owner changed their username from something totally unrelated to littlestjeff1, following the revelation of littlestjeff1 as a name on YouTube. These Fortnite trackers only display your current name, not any prior changes to it.
We have no record of the subject's email addresses referenced in the public document existing in the Epic account system. Since the public document releases, people have created Fortnite accounts with similar-looking email addresses and user names."
The tin foil hats are out in force, as a bizarre Jeffrey Epstein conspiracy theory is gathering steam online.
Despite the late financier being found dead in his cell at New York's Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) in August 2019, the circumstances surrounding his passing have remained a point of contention.

Away from the typical theories that Epstein was 'murdered' as a way of keeping him silent, instead of the official report that he took his own life, things have taken a wild turn amid claims he could still be alive.
Following pressure from Democrats, fellow Republicans, and the general public, the Trump administration has continued to release the Epstein files. There are complaints that the government has been sensationalising the release of the files, while there have also been continued questions about President Donald Trump's well-documented relationship with the convicted child sex offender, serial rapist, and human trafficker.
The latest release of the Epstein files has spurred further conspiracy theories, including the unexpected (but fake) claim that he's Bitcoin inventor Satoshi Nakamoto.

As for the idea that Jeffrey Epstein is still alive, one of the world's biggest video games has thrown fuel on the fire. Millions of players log in to play Fortnite every day, but could Jeffrey Epstein really be one of them...some six years after his death?
Over on X, account @Pirat_Nation points to how an account apparently associated with Epstein has been regularly playing Fortnite matches. The lengthy thread reiterates how the DoJ's official Epstein Library emails confirmed there's a YouTube receipt for an account named 'littlestjeff1'. If you look at Fortnite Tracker, the account llittlestjeff1 ranked Silver 1 in Chapter 5 Season 1, which would be something of a miracle as it ran from December 2023 until March 2024 – long after Epstein's death.
More than this, the littlestjeff1 account seemed to play 74 Fortnite matches in 2025.
As well as the account being made private, a considerable chunk of Fortnite playtime corresponds to when Epstein was in prison back in 2019. The same littlestjeff1 account appeared to play Rainbow Six Siege in June 2025 and even Rocket League in February 2026.
Referring to it as a possible coincidence, the OP added: "Probably it could be this: someone got the account in a data breach. Who knows." Looking at things objectively, it's most likely that even if the account did once belong to Jeffrey Epstein, it could've had access stolen by someone else.
That didn't stop the idea from taking off, as even the controversial Andrew Tate amplified the conspiracy that Epstein is still alive, as he added: "It’s not maybe. It’s been confirmed to me."
There was a mix of those who were sold on the idea and others who found the whole thing hilarious.
Someone else said: "The concept of finding out Jeffrey Epstein is alive all because of a Fortnite tracker is f**king killing me 😭😭."
Another concluded: "In the nature of public interest, @EpicGames needs to disclose whether the littlestjeff1 account was active with that name for the past 7 years or a recent name change from an opportunistic actor or political agitator."
