Millions of gamers could get a surprise GTA 6 release
The game is set to be released in autumn 2025
Millions of gamers could soon be rejoicing with a surprise release from Grand Theft Auto.
Fans of the video game have been waiting for the next installment for a whopping 12 years, after GTA 5 was dropped back in September 2013.
Now, GTA 6 is finally set to be released in the autumn of this year, but there’s a catch.

So far, it has only been announced that it will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
This has left PC users wondering how long they’ll have to wait for the game.
While it hasn’t been confirmed whether the game will be released on PC at all, Strauss Zelnick, who is the boss of Take Two, which is Rockstar Games’ parent company, has teased it.
Speaking to IGN, he said: “So with Civ 7 (Civilization 7) it’s available on console and PC and Switch right away.
“With regard to others in our lineup, we don’t always go across all platforms simultaneously. Historically, Rockstar has started with some platforms and then historically moved to other platforms.”
While this sounds like an eventual PC release is certainly on the cards, it could actually end up being much sooner than fans may expect.
Zelnick went on to say: “We have seen PC become a much more and more important part of what used to be a console business, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see that trend continue. Of course, there will be a new console generation.”
He added: “When you have a big title in the market and we have many of them coming, historically that has sold consoles.
“And I think that will happen this year. I don’t think tariffs are going to be our friend, but I think there will be a meaningful uptick in console sales in calendar 25 because of the release schedule, not just coming from us, but coming from others.
“So I’m not concerned about that [console sales falling]. I think the trend that you’d want to focus on is this increasing share of the market that is reflected in PC.”
So, how long will PC fans have to wait before GTA 6 is released?
Well, given that the game is due to come out in the fall of 2025, it seems like that PC fans will receive it in 2026 at the earliest.
Either way, Zelnick has claimed that the game’s release will be the biggest entertainment launch of all time.
