iPhone users have been warned to do one thing before they update their devices to iOS 26.
This comes as the latest operating system upgrade becomes publicly available for Apple fans.
However, there is one thing iPhone users should be aware of before updating their devices, according to advice given on social media.
On Reddit, one user wrote: “Questions regarding IOS 26 update. I bought 15 pro recently and want to update to ios 26. Is there anything to do before update like keep on charging while updating or not? Can i update my phone while battery is less then 60%, Is the stable version good? What about battery performance? Need genuine advice.”

This prompted advice from others, with one person writing: “make sure you have at least 50% of battery for the update. plugging it in while update is a great idea. The stable version is great! the battery performance might take a hit right after you update it but will stabilize over time.”
And another added: “Peoples are complaining about overheating during update while charging and it might degrade battery.”
Other reactions to the iOS 26 update
Other people have shared their own reactions to iOS 26 after updating their phone, and it seems like a lot of users were pleasantly surprised by the upgrade, with one person saying: “The new camera design is so much better. I can hold the phone like an actual camera now. In ios 18, the camera button felt so useless. But now that I can use my thumbs on the screen with my finger on the button, it makes more sense.

Another wrote: “Love it. I used it through the beta period and now iOS 18 looks extremely outdated to me. People complaining about performance just need to wait a while for everything to settle, it was like that for me for a while on the first betas as well.”

A third person commented: “I'm super into it actually. The animations are really slick, especially for notifications. And I love how the lockscreen looks. I kind of wish you could adjust the transparency because believe it or not, I actually kind of dig the look the reveal trailer showed off and was disappointed when they toned it down. I also like how tilting my phone adjusts the "reflections" in real time. Just a neat touch.”
And a fourth added: “Love it, people don’t like change, they’ll get over it. I’m currently in Europe traveling and the battery life has been better on my 16 pro max.”
