Notifications can be irritating when they disrupt you from your daily smartphone activities, especially when they pop up every minute.

One iPhone owner sought tech support from the online Reddit community, expressing annoyance with a very persistent notification.

In their plea for assistance, the caption to the support community read: 'My phone keeps showing me this at least once a minute and I cannot turn it off.'

The attached image of the notification warned: 'iPhone may be too close. Keeping your iPhone at arm's length can protect your eyesight.'

Despite holding the phone at a distance of 30 cm, the user explained that the alert continued to appear.

Calling it 'aggravating', they said they tried to turn it off but the device requires a password in order to do so.

One Reddit user suggested a solution to simply 'move your phone away from your face.'

Another helpful tip from the community revealed that the password required to disable the notification is the 'Screen Time' password.

Meanwhile, other Reddit users have claimed to have 'never seen the notification before' and another saying: 'I’m almost curious how this doesn’t show up for me.'

Apple has informed users that if you hold your iPhone or iPad too close to your face, an alert appears that 'prevents you from continuing' to use your device.

If you move your device away from your face greater than 30 cm (12 inches) and click Continue, the alert will disappear.

However, this isn't working for everyone. Fortunately, there is a solution to rid of this notification forever.

The notification aims to prevent digital eye strain and potential damage from using Apple's bright LED screen too close to their eyes.

As handy as it sounds in theory, the new iOS update introducing this feature isn't sitting well with a lot of users.

One said: 'This pops up every 5 minutes for me, I can never learn to hold my phone further away.'

Another commented: 'I tried keeping this on for visual health. But it was extremely annoying and turned it off within minutes.'
