There is a new iOS 26 update that allows iPhone users to disable a frustrating feature that they have been desperate to get rid of.

Apple fans have been excited to get their hands on the new update ever since it was first unveiled at the annual WWDC earlier this month.

Unlike other updates, this one won’t follow the previous numerical patterns, skipping iOS 19 altogether and jumping straight from 18 to 26.

However, this isn’t without good reason as the move is to make all of the operating system upgrade sync with the calendar year.

iOS 26 is expected to be dropped in September of this year, but iPhone users might be able to get it sooner after the tech giant announced that the beta version will be available to try out from next month.

In a statement, Apple said: “New public betas for iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26, tvOS 26, HomePod software 26, watchOS 26 and AirPods Firmware are coming soon.

“As a member of the Apple Beta Software Programme, you can take part in shaping Apple software by test-driving pre-release versions and letting us know what you think.

“The Apple Beta Software Programme lets you try pre-release software and provide feedback to help us make it even better.”

And now it looks like users will finally be able to remove a feature that a lot aren’t happy about.

A new promotion for the original Apple movie F1 the Movie has been displayed in the iPhone wallet app, much to the annoyance of its users.

With many taking to social media to complain about the advertisement, on Reddit, one user wrote: “Listen, Brad Pitt, I know you want me to see your movie, but not like this.”

Another said: “I came here looking for this. I just got the notification as well and it struck me as a bit odd.

“I get notifying people in an email or through an entertainment app, but Wallet? An “essential” app like that? I am getting Bono flashbacks. Feels a little low and uncharacteristic for Apple.

“I know now that I definitely won’t be watching that movie! Seems like an advertisement that looks like a movie, anyways.”

And a third person added: “I guess Apple didn't learn from the U2 fiasco a few years back…”

How to remove the advertisement from Apple Wallet

If you want to be able to remove the promotion from your phone then all you need to do is open up your wallet app and selet the three dots in the top right corner.

From there, click on notifications and turn off offers and promotions.
