Why millions of iPhone users are getting Apple TV and Apple Arcade on basic $0.99 iCloud+
Apple has revealed a new subscription tier for iCloud users that means millions of people will now gain access to other features including Apple TV and Apple Arcade.
In the announcement published on Tuesday (September 15), the tech giant shared that from this month onwards, subscribers of iCloud+ in certain countries will now also be able to use Apple TV and Apple Arcade as part of their subscription. And the good news is that this will not come at any extra cost because it is all part of the new monthly plan.
In a release, Apple explained: “The expanded subscription lets users back up, store, and share personal content across all their Apple devices using iCloud, while also enjoying award-winning originals from Apple TV and hundreds of hit games in Apple Arcade.
“Family Sharing allows users to share their iCloud+ subscription with up to five family members. With the introduction of this expanded iCloud+ offering, users in Mali will also get access to Apple TV for the first time.”

Eddy Cue, who is Apple’s senior vice president of Services and Health, added: “We’re excited to bring Apple TV and Apple Arcade to iCloud+ users in over 100 countries in one convenient subscription. iCloud+ users can now securely store and share personal content across their devices, enjoy the absolute best in original storytelling from Apple TV, and explore an incredible lineup of hundreds of games through Apple Arcade.”
More benefits for iCloud+ subscribers
So, what else is new for iCloud+ subscriptions? Well users will now also receive more storage and access to other benefits including ‘event creation in the Apple Invites app and enhanced privacy features’.
Alongside Apple TV, users will be able make the most of Apple Arcade which boasts a catalog of over 200 games. This includes Football Manager 26 Touch, NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition, Angry Birds Reloaded, and Cooking Mama: Cuisine.
Subscribers will also be able to access Apple Music Select, which is a collection of ad-free stations programmed by Apple Music.
Who can access the iCloud+ plan?
The new offer by Apple is only available in certain countries and that doesn’t include the likes of the US, Canada, UK or Australia.
Instead, the program is being expanded to 59 new nations, including Albania, India, Mali, Saudi Arabia, and Zimbabwe.
Anyone who already has a subscription will automatically gain access to the added benefits Apple is now offering.
