Apple brings back much-loved iPhone model months after it was declared 'obsolete'

You could potentially pick up a fantastic deal on one of Apple's best products

Apple have just made a decision that will delight any deal lovers out there, as they've strangely decided to bring back a much-loved iPhone model despite the fact it was declared 'obselete' just a few months earlier.

There's always going to be an incredible amount of hype surrounding a new iPhone release, and even the budget SE lineup earned significant fan attention when it was revealed and released earlier this year.

New features, fresh designs, and simply the feeling of a new gadget in your hands are often enough to convince many Apple fans to jump ship to the new product, but anyone who considers themselves budget conscious might begin looking at some of the older models.

The trouble you'll often find with that method though is that Apple quickly removes older product lines from sale, especially when it comes to the higher performing models, cleverly prompting you into buying the shiny new product instead.

However, Apple have now made a shock move that has delighted many fans by bringing back a much-loved older model, despite the fact they removed it from their store only a few months ago, as reported by Forbes.

If you're in the United Kingdom, you can now buy the 'Pro' and 'Pro Max' versions of the iPhone 15 on Apple's official store, and it also comes at a reduced price which only further sweetens the deal.

The small 'catch' here is that they're only offering 'Refurbished' models of the popular phone, although when bought directly from Apple these are often as good as new and feature all of the add-ons that you'd expect to find alongside it.

For the 128GB iPhone 15 Pro, it's base price has been knocked down to £919 ($1,219) from £999 ($1,325), with an additional £140 due to its refurbished status taking it down to just £779 ($1,034).

For comparison, the standard 128GB iPhone 16 will set you back £799 ($1,060), whereas the equivalent Pro version of the 16 costs £999 ($1,325), so you're getting a fantastic saving that's seen across all storage amounts of the Pro and Pro Max lineup.

Of course, there are advantages to owning the Pro version of the 16 compared to the 15, which include a slightly bigger screen, a newer processor, improved cameras, certain Apple Intelligence features, and a game-changing photo option that many people don't take advantage of.

However, the iPhone 15 Pro is still a fantastic phone, and many argue that it's a better choice than the standard iPhone 16 which it's now cheaper than.

On a Reddit post asking which is better, one comment sums up the argument succinctly: "Get the 15 Pro. 120hz, 3x telephoto, RAW, titanium. These things you don't get in the 16 base."

Another adds that the "15 Pro does everything the same minus faster wireless charging, the camera button, and the fusion camera, plus it has a 120hz display which the base 16 does not. I'd go with the 15 Pro, especially if it's cheaper. It's a much better deal."

It's certainly a difficult deal to ignore for anyone looking to upgrade an old iPhone or join the Apple ecosystem, and with the iPhone 17 announcement likely on the horizon, this could be your last chance to secure the brilliant price.
