Apple declare popular Apple Watch to be now obsolete

Apple declare popular Apple Watch to be now obsolete

It might be bad news if you're a fan of this Apple Watch series

Apple has declared that its popular Apple Watch is set to become obsolete.

The tech firm announced the new Apple Watch Series 10 earlier last year after the watch became one of Apple’s most popular products.

In fact, the Apple Watch is so popular that in 2019 it outsold the entire Swiss watch industry combined.

However, just like with other older Apple products, some of the earlier models are getting the chop to make way for new versions.

This news has come in after the company marked the Apple Watch Series 4 as vintage.

But this shouldn’t be too much of a shocker because everything that Apple puts out gets labeled as vintage after it has been off sale for more than five years.

And while that might not seem like a long time, in the world of technology, it’s ancient.

The advancements of tech are moving swiftly and it looks like firms are having to be quick to keep up with the fast pace of the industry.

With the introduction of the likes of AI - or in Apple’s case, Apple Intelligence - older products are being removed to make way for more advanced and efficient models.

And the Apple Watch Series 4 is six versions away from the latest model - Series 10.

The newest Apple Watch is slimmer than previous versions, with a full millimeter taken off from the thickness.

The material used has also changed from stainless steel and aluminium to now aluminium and titanium.

That’s not all - the internal processor and sensors might all be similar but they’ve undergone years of upgrades to run much more smoothly.

So, while we might be bidding farewell to the Series 4, there is still so much to look forward to for the future of the Apple Watch.

What features come with the Apple Watch Series 10?

The watch boasts an 18-hour battery life and a sleep apnoea feature, which is a condition that causes people to suddenly stop breathing during sleep, where the device can detect if the wearer is experiencing it.

The screen is 40% brighter on an angle and the watch itself is just 9.7 millimeters thick, making it 10% thinner than the Apple Watch Series 9.

Apple says that the larger screen will mean that users will be able to check their emails and messages at just a glance.

Another bonus is how quick it is to charge - taking just 30 minutes to reach 80% battery.
