Elon Musk is once again delivering on one of his long-held promises, with Tesla vehicles now driving themself off the production lines and to your door.
Hyping that Teslas would be driving directly to your homes before the end of 2025, the world's richest man recently promised, "first Tesla that drives itself from factory end of line all the way to a customer house is June 28."
Staying true to his word, footage shows off the monumental moment in action, with Tesla trying to 'drive' itself into the future of autonomous vehicles after a rough start to 2025.
Thanks to Elon Musk's appointment as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency, Tesla has faced boycotts, tumbling stock holdings, and even scenes of violence at dealerships.

Musk has vowed to get back to his EV baby, with him finally rolling out his robotaxi plans in Austin. While there have been a couple of teething problems and concerning scenes of robotaxis running over miscellaneous items, Tesla continues to bang its autonomous drum.
Posting on X, Musk shared footage of the Tesla Model Y leaving Texas' Gigafactory and making a 30-minute journey to its new owner.
Musk cheered the innovation, saying there were "no remote operators in control at any point."

While this is undeniably impressive, it's not the first time we've seen self-driving cars on the freeway, with Waymo allowing its employees access to autonomous vehicles in Los Angeles in early 2025.
With Teslas now rolling off the production line, it seems everyone has the same thought. When the official Tesla YouTube shared the video, the comment section was full of people seeing the potential of cars being able to motor around without the need to actually be in the car, let alone at the wheel.
Loving the idea, one person wrote: "Imagine your car need service. U book an appointment. Your car goes to service center. Get the service and return home."

Another added: "Imagine going to the airport, car drops you off and goes back home. Go to the mall and the car drops you off and parks itself."
A third concluded: "As a 43-year-old fan of Knight Rider and everything we used to dream of would be possible in the future back then, this is crazy for me to see... wow..."
There were plenty of jokes about missing a monthly payment and the car simply driving itself away, and if you think that's too far-fetched, wait until you see Musk put it into action.
Despite concerns about Full Self-Driving technology and recent scenes where it failed to stop for child-sized mannequins out in the road, it's clear Tesla is pushing us toward this kind of autonomous future.

Either way, 2025 is sure to be remembered as a massive year for Tesla as it finally gets closer to Musk's FSD dream.
