On the eve of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has been seen enjoying a bizarre activity in his free time while on a family vacation.

Ronaldo has achieved nearly everything in his long sporting career with the World Cup remaining the one trophy he's yet to claim, but his move to the Saudi Pro League back in 2023 signalled to many that he was approaching the end of his time on the pitch.

The Al Nassr star has since become the face of the league, appearing frequently as an ambassador for the Gulf state, and he's more than reaped the financial benefits of that position.

Not only does he earn a jaw-dropping amount of money each week thanks to his footballing contract, but he also racks up millions each year from endorsements on platforms like Instagram – which at one point somehow totalled more than his earnings from the sport.

He became the first player in history to reach billionaire status purely from football, and he's used that money to flesh out an incredibly impressive car collection that recently saw the addition of a rather unorthodox vehicle.

As reported by Supercar Blondie, Ronaldo was spotted on holiday in his home island of Madeira where he was enjoying the sunshine and one unexpected activity.

Footage filmed by the man himself shows the sports star 'driving' a Corvette-looking vehicle across the ocean in an impressive feat, although it's unlikely that this was some form of automotive revelation but instead a neat trick that you can find in many parts of the world. (Video below).

Additionally, there's a good chance that this car was rented and not actually part of the striker's vast collection — although he certainly has the funds to pick one up purely for this trip alone if he wanted to.

Some have found it odd that the ultra-rich sportsman can be seen doing something that you and I could feasibly rent so long as we were in the right place, and that absurdity in conjunction with the initial shock at seeing a car soar across the waves has caused the clip to go viral on social media.

Footage shared by the footballer also shows his family enjoying 'floating' surf boards, giant inflatable slides, and jet ski-like individual boats while in the ocean, showing that even someone as regimented as Ronaldo can have some fun in his off time.
