The police have issued a savage six-word statement after they were forced to pull over a Waymo vehicle for ‘drunk driving’.
Waymo cars have taken over the streets of California in recent as the driverless taxi service has become a popular option for cabs.
On the website, they are described as ‘the world’s most experienced driver’, going on to state: “We’re on a mission to be the world’s most trusted driver. Making it safer, more accessible, and more sustainable to get around - without the need for anyone in the driver’s seat.”
However, it looks like the robotaxis might be more lifelike than previously thought as, just like human drivers, they are getting pulled over by the police for their driving.

The incident took place in the Bay Area, in the city of San Bruno, San Fransisco, when police who were on patrol searching for drunk drivers ended up stopping a Waymo car when it made an illegal U-turn at a traffic light.
However, when they appeared at the driver’s window, it turned out that there was no one behind the wheel.
Taking to social media, the authorities posted a statement which read: “No driver, no hands, no clue.”

But unlike most unlikely drivers, the Waymo wasn’t issued with a citation because, well, there was no one to give it to.
Instead, the police made Waymo’s parent company, Google, aware of the issue.
The police continued: “Our citation books don’t have a box for ‘robot’.”
And this doesn’t appear to be the first time that a driverless car has had a run in with the law as, just last year, police in Phoenix, Arizona, were forced to pull over a Waymo vehicle when it steered into oncoming traffic and drove through a red light.

There have been serious incidents with the cars, including a time when a Waymo ran over a dog, and another hit a cyclist, causing brain and spinal injuries.
Other times, witnesses have seen them driving around in circles and congregating in a parking lots to honk at one another.
But despite the bizarre and sometimes dangerous antics, it doesn’t look like robotaxis are going away anytime soon.

In fact, Elon Musk is looking to get in on the action too with the brand new Tesla Cybercab.
While still in the works, the tech mogul hopes that the new vehicle will be able to make owners money while they sleep.
