One of the gaming world's biggest live streamers has finally made a surprise return to Twitch after years of inactivity, leaving his 22 million subscribers across social media overjoyed.

While new faces have cropped over over the past few years, many of the gaming world's biggest live streamers have remained on top for nearly a decade now, especially since Fortnite took over Twitch back in 2017.

IRL streamers like iShowSpeed and Kai Cenat might rake in the most viewers across the streaming world right now, yet names like Ninja, TimTheTatman, and Shroud are still incredibly popular and have continued the grind across most of Twitch's lifespan.

One name that voluntarily fell away from popularity though was Turner "Tfue" Tenney, as while he was once one of the biggest streamers – especially around the time of Fortnite's release – he decided to step away from the limelight over the last few years.

He has taken numerous breaks from streaming, dabbled in IRL content on Kick and YouTube, but his love and passion for gaming had clearly waned leaving him with little motivation to hop on to what his contemporaries were playing.

As reported by Dexerto, Tfue shocked everyone on Sunday (December 14) that he was making a return to the gaming world, dropping a video on YouTube detailing his reasoning alongside two consecutive ten-hour-plus streams across the last two days.

In the video (simply titled 'I'm back'), Tfue explains that the conditions of the contract he previously signed with Twitch left him incredibly burnt out with games, as he was required to stream for long hours despite his rapidly decreasing desire to do so.

This led him to take a break when his contract was up, distancing himself from gaming because there simply wasn't anything that sparked the same passion as he had before.

"After like a year or two I started playing Runescape off stream and just trying to get some nostalgia dopamine. It was fun, but I didn't get the same feeling that I got when I first played H1Z1, Destiny, or Fortnite. When I played those games for the first time, I felt something. I hadn't felt that feeling in a while," the streamer explained.

However, a recent release appeared to spark his interest, and when he gave it a try it introduced a desire to stream that hadn't been present for years at that point.

"I feel like games the past few years have been so dry, like I don't want to play COD or Battlefield or whatever, like those games are ass," he joked, revealing his love for new PvPvE extraction shooter ARC Raiders that has taken the streaming world by storm.

This return video on YouTube has earned over 500,000 views in under two days since it was uploaded, and the VOD of his return stream on Twitch has picked up 848,000 views, proving that he was certainly missed in the streaming world.

"We'll see how it goes, I don't want to tell everybody I'm back 100 percent because it's been a while," Tfue clarified, but he added that he thinks "it'll go well. I think It'll be fun."
