It's been nearly a decade since Stranger Things first aired but the hit Netflix show has finally come to an end, yet fans have still been left with a surprise after the 'original Holly' reveals an emotional tribute to the show on social media.
It's only natural that things can change over time when dealing with child actors – especially over the timescale that Stranger Things was dealing with from a production perspective – and it's amazing that the main cast remained consistent without any issues.
Inevitably some of the background actors – especially those on the younger side when the Netflix show began – had to be replaced, and this was particularly noticeable for a character who became rather prominent in the TV show's final season.
While she appeared in all of the show's five seasons, Mike and Nancy Wheeler's younger sister Holly only became significant to the narrative at the very end as danger approaches.

Keen-eyed fans will have noticed that she looked a little different in the latest season, and that was precisely because there was a new actor behind Holly, replacing the twins that had played her ever since they were just three-years-old in 2016.

As reported by LADbible, Anniston and Tinsley Price have now shared their experiences playing the 'original' Holly in an emotional post on TikTok, leaving many fans in shock at the realization that the actor had changed alongside the reason why they were replaced.
They shared their memories across several posts, each with several photos documenting their time in the show, and they weren't shy in expressing their love for memories they made throughout the streaming show.
"We adored season 1 of Stranger Things, and we hope you enjoy some behind the scenes taken during our first season," the twins write in one post. "We were 3, and the Stranger Things universe was just starting. From our first day to the wrap party, we loved every moment!"
Anniston and Tinsley added that "all of thsese people will forever be core memories for us. So much laughter and so many memories!"
Clarifying why they aren't in the show for the latest season, the twins illustrated that "we don't do acting any more, but Nell Fisher is going to rock in season 5," as they now perform in a different yet equally impressive way as all-star cheerleaders.
Stranger Things co-creator Ross Duffer has also revealed his own thought process behind replacing the Price twins with Nell Fisher, explaining in an interview with Variety:
"She was just a little kid. Even season one, when we're filming her, it was basically whatever one of the young twins would do, we would just try to capture it in real time.
"So we didn't really have a voice for her. In the initial scripts, Holly was a little shyer and a little more withdrawn. And then we found Nell, who's such a character."
It appears to have worked out well for all parties though, as not only has Nell Fisher got her chance to shine as the youngest Wheeler child but both Price twins have found their passion away from acting and appear to be more than happy for their replacement.
