Netflix fans are being warned that the streaming app will soon no longer work on five major devices.

The platform will be stopping its service for multiple Apple devices which will include certain iPhones and iPads.

Users were alerted to the news when an announcement appeared on the screen of affected devices when opening the app.

In the notice, Netflix shared that it would be dropping its service from older operating systems with Apple.

The announcement read: “We’ve updated the Netflix app! To use the latest version, install iOS 17 or later.”

It won’t provide any more updates for iOS 16, which was released in 2022.

More recent models of iPhones and iPads won’t be affected as they will be able to update their gadget to iOS 17 or iOS 18, which is available to download from today.

However, anyone who is still using an older device will miss out if they don’t upgrade soon.

At the minute, nothing will change and Netflix will continue to work but any new features or fixes to things like bugs won’t be available anymore.

This means that the app will eventually stop working.

Some of the phones that will be affected by the change include the iPhone X, which was released back in 2017.

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, which were both also launched in 2017, will no longer be able to get updates to the Netflix app.

As for iPads, anyone using the first iPad Pro and iPad 5 tablets will also be affected.
