A brand new Apple TV show has been pulled just days before it was due to premiere on the platform.
This comes after shocking allegations surfaced, stirring up controversy online surrounding the show.
The French thriller titled The Hunt was expected to land on Apple TV next Wednesday (December 3), starring Benoît Magimel and Melanie Laurent, but has since been postponed due to plagiarism allegations against the show’s creator.
Critics have highlighted alleged similarities with a 1976 film adaption of the novel Shoot.

Gaumont, the production company behind the new show released a statement, saying: “The broadcast of our series The Hunt has been temporarily postponed.

“We are currently conducting a thorough review to address any questions related to our production. We take intellectual property matters very seriously.”
The Hunt follows the story of a man named Franck and his group of friends who enjoy hunting on the weekend. However, things take a sinister turn when they find themselves being hunted after another group targets them.

Similarities with Shoot were first raised by French media commentator Clement Garin, and the release of the new show has since been indefinitely postponed.
Many people have reacted to the news on social media, sharing their own thoughts on the matter.
On Reddit, one user wrote: “When a major production studio takes on a project, don't they check stuff like this? I know the answer is no since often time books get published by major publishers that are damn near duplicates but still.”

Another said: “This will necessitate a lot of expensive legal wrangling to determine whether the writer did indeed rip off that book. Just because it’s been pulled for now, that doesn’t mean it won’t come out later when all of this is resolved.”
A third person joked: “They should make a movie about the director doing this/how apple let this happen. Make back the money. Sounds like a great plot.”
And a fourth added on X, formerly Twitter: “What a waste of everyone's time, talent, and money. I was looking forward to watching The Hunt.”
In other Apple TV news, the new series Pluribus has become a hit show for the streaming service.
