One YouTuber traveling through Taliban-controlled Afghanistan decided to take a route that even the locals will always avoid, and he managed to meet some intriguing people along the way.
While much of the world is as stunning as it is fascinating – even in areas that weren't as successful as they were designed to be – there are some countries and locations that are best avoided wherever possible.
One YouTuber who has managed to visit every single country on Earth has revealed the 'worst' and 'scariest' that he has had the pleasure to be in, and that list is certainly filled with locations that you should probably stay clear of if you value your life.

That didn't stop one creator from venturing into Taliban-controlled Afghanistan though, and he even went to lengths that the locals are scared to try, producing some fascinating footage.
YouTube and self-professed 'adventurer' Mike Okay has made a name for himself on the video sharing platform for exploring the world — particularly the places that most people wouldn't (and probably shouldn't) travel to.
His latest video took him inside Afghanistan, which is currently under the control and governance of the Taliban, and he even had a number of face-to-face meetings with high ranking members of the feared organization.

While many were already left shocked by a gift he was given from a truck driver on his travels, the real dangers appeared to start around halfway through his journey when he decided to take a route to Kishande that even locals don't take.
"This road through the mountains, you think it will be okay?" Mike asked a local before setting off on his travels, and he received some sage advice regarding the dangers he was potentially about to face.
"Hmm, I don't think [so] but I wish," replied one of the locals, agreeing that it was 'maybe' a bit dangerous and advising him to take a different, longer route.
When asked about what dangers he might encounter, the local clarified: "That way is somewhat dangerous, Afghani people are so scared from that way. In this way we have desert, we have to pass from desert. There is maybe some thief."

Thankfully the 'thief' in question isn't likely to kidnap humans, but could still be very dangerous — especially for a YouTuber who is effectively carrying their entire life in a bag on their back.
Those warnings, of course, didn't stop Mike from taking the feared route anyway, and thankfully he managed to pass through with no issue.
He even encountered a vaccine administrated carrying vital foreign aid from the World Health Organization, and hitched a ride with an 'aggressive sounding' truck driver who was in fact wishing him well on his travels.
