Man forced to stop after lowering camera into 'dangerous' sinkhole

A man was forced to stop what he was doing after lowering his camera into a ‘dangerous’ sinkhole.

Documenting the experience for YouTube, the man dropped his camera into the ‘very scary sinkhole with vertical sides’ to find out how dangerous it was.

Beau Ouimette, who is known online as Aquachigger, wrote in the video description: “In this video, I return to the very scary sinkhole with vertical sides that appears to have a tunnel leading off into the deep.

“The sinkhole is very fresh and the sides keep falling in as I lower the camera. I believe it would be a death trap if I tried to lower myself to get a first-hand look. So off the camera went....what was below?”

In the clip, Ouimette lowered the camera into the ‘active sinkhole’, commenting on how ‘you could pretty much collapse at any time’.

Hitting the bottom, the footage showed a pit of mud, dirt and rocks.

The adventurous YouTuber determined that this wasn’t a sinkhole he was willing to explore himself, saying: “I think it’s instant death, if I went down in there, I’d be really, really scared.”

Bringing the camera back up to the surface, Ouimette took one last peak into the hole with a flashlight.

He said: “I can see the solid limestone there now and there’s more rock down in there but I just could not tell if it kept going or not.

“I couldn’t get the camera far enough over, I’m just not real comfortable going down in that one.”

Many viewers took to the YouTube comment section to share their own reactions to the dangerous sinkhole.

One user said: “Yes Chigg stay out of that one.”

Another shared the same sentiment, writing: “Don't risk it bro that looks very dangerous and crumbly u don't want to get caught in there.”

A third commented: “Oh my goodness you made me nervous, even though I knew you were alright cause the video is uploaded.”

A fourth joked: “The sink hole was not safe enough for you an experienced cave explorer to enter so you sent us instead. If that had collapsed my wife never would have known what happened to me lol.”

A fifth said: “I am so relieved to hear that you are not going in there. Whew!”

And a sixth person added: “Glad to see you are being cautious and using common sense. Great video.”
