A pair of influencers claim they're lucky to be alive after viral footage shows them being struck by an SUV while in the middle of a food review. Nina Santiago and Patrick Blackwood were eating at CuVee’s Culinary Creations in Houston, Texas, hoping to share their video with their 23.9K subscribers.
The channel is full of them enjoying lavish spreads, and while at CuVee’s Culinary Creations, their banquet included salmon sliders, presidential oysters, and macaroni cheese flight.
It seems that YouTubers and cars don't mix. Like when MrBeast smashed a Lamborghini for a stunt, or Jack Doherty wrote off a $200,000 McLaren because he was filming while driving, Santiago and Blackwood had their meal interrupted by an SUV tearing through the window of their booth at up to 40 mph.
We know that influencers want to go viral with their content, but being put in a life-threatening situation like this presumably wasn't what the pair had in mind.

After being quickly rushed to the hospital, the video continues with the influencers showing off their injuries.

Blackwood seemed to come off worse as he managed to largely shield Santiago, although she had to stay longer in the hospital because she said she was still in pain.
Discussing the ordeal, Santiago explained: "Maybe I'm delusional right now, but it's like I want to break down and cry and I just can't. I'm trying to not freak out. I'm like, Just smile. Smile. We're okay. We're okay'."

Over on Reddit, people couldn't believe what they were seeing. Although some people (somehow) thought the whole thing had been staged, we question how that would even be possible.
One key moment has Blackwood jumping up from the table with some massive shards of glass between his legs.
Giving some real Final Destination vibes, someone replied: "That big chunk of glass between his legs had me cringing."

Another added: "I was locked onto that in the slomo like nononononNONONO lol. The narrow margin by which these two avoided serious injury is terrifying."
Amid suggestions that restaurants should have bollards by windows when they're on stretches of road, others said they'll be thinking twice the next time they're dining out. Someone added, "Sitting by the window, new fear unlocked!!!" as another chimed in saying, "When I worked in a restaurant, the head chef never sat in a certain corner because one time a car crashed into it."
One concerned diner shared their own harrowing experience as they concluded: "We had a real nice restaurant a few blocks from us, but it was near an intersection. As much as we wanted to go, the fact they got hit through the front door by a car about twice a year kept me from going there."
