A biohacker who is trying to ‘live forever’ has revealed how a routine doctor’s appointment uncovered a ‘life threatening condition’ that 'almost killed him'.
Bryan Johnson has become well known for his attempts to prolong his life as much as possible and he has undergone some pretty bizarre treatment in his bid to never die.
The venture capitalist admitted that he spends around $2 million a year trying to de-age himself as he attempts to turn back his biological clock.

And the dad-of-three has also made a name for himself for being obsessed with halting the aging process, even receiving blood transfusions from his son in an attempt to have the youngest possible biological age.
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any weirder, earlier this year Johnson shared that he had taken one step further.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, he wrote: “I am no longer injecting my son’s blood. I’ve upgraded to something else: total plasma exchange.”

Since then, the biohacker has shared a worrying health update where he revealed that he discovered a ‘life threatening condition’ that ‘almost killed’ him.
In a YouTube video, Johnson said: “I was getting a routine full body MRI scan and it discovered that I have a condition called internal jugular vein stenosis.
“We have veins on the side of our neck and one carries blood to the brain and one carries blood out of the brain, my internal jugular vein is genetically narrow which means that my brain was not able to remove blood.
“It increased pressure, it gave me headaches and dizziness. I had these symptoms and I didn’t know what was going on. Now, this was not discovered with blood work, it was not discovered from a physical exam, in fact I had lived 43 years of life and no one ever told me that I had this.”

Many people took to the YouTube comment section to share their own reactions to the news.
One user wrote: “Ahh yes, the routine full body MRI scan.”
Another said: “It’s crazy that you can live decades without knowing that you’ve got a life threatening disease.”

A third commented: “A routine MRI body scan is certainly a sentence - I just had one and it cost 5k.”
And a fourth person joked: “This is why I get my routine MRI scans once a week right after my routine cryotherapy, can never be too safe. Then I celebrate another week of health with a routine full body mind and soul massage.”
