Tinder user finally lands a date after swiping right two million times

It only took just over 5 years

Not everyone is blessed with success in the dating world, but one Tinder user took things to the extreme when he only managed to secure a single date after over 2,000,000 right swipes.

Many have recounted how horrific the experience of modern dating apps can be, as you're almost guaranteed to run into ghosting, bizarre preferences, and other obstructive factors no matter how good your profile looks from the outside.

Advice from the world's most swiped man can only get you so far after all, and often your success on places like Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge can be defined purely by the luck of the draw.

There is likely nobody that has had less success on dating apps that one Reddit user though, as u/fishboy26 has revealed his mortifying Tinder insights, detailing how he's swiped right over 2,000,000 times with just a single date to show for it.

How many times has he swiped right?

As reported by the Free Press Journal, he has swiped 2,058,473 times in total, with 2,020,459 (98.15%) of those being right swipes, which indicate that he wanted to match with the person being shown.

This was across a period of 5 years and 93 days, meaning that on average he was swiping 1,073 times every single day, with 1053 of those being right-hand swipes.

Out of those two million plus right swipes, he only managed to secure just 2,053 matches, representing a success rate of 0.1%, with only 1,269 of those matches actually leading to chats.

What's worse is what he has revealed about these 1,269 matched chats, writing on Reddit that "95% of the chats are bots trying to get me to add them on Snapchat."

If we take his percentage at face value, that means that he only spoke to around 63 people across five years on Tinder, which is a woeful 0.003% of the profiles he'd swiped right on.

How many dates has he gone on?

While it looks terrible in the grand scheme of things, 63 conversations with real people could still lead to lots of romantic connections, but unfortunately his analytics show that he managed just a single date, listing it as ending in 'no spark' without a relationship or even casual sex.

So, he managed to earn a date from just 1.58% of the people he'd actually had a conversation with, from 0.048% of his matches, and from 0.00004% of his total right swipes.

Horrifically, looking back at an older post from u/fishboy26 at the point at which he'd reached the one million right swipes milestone, you can see that he'd still only had one date there, implying that he'd not managed to secure any dates across just over a year and one million extra swipes.

Many have speculated why he's had such awful success on Tinder, with many putting it down to his decision to include a fish picture on his profile, alongside some questionable bio decisions.

However, he revealed that taking on board the advice that many had given him didn't generate any more success, writing in a comment:

"Got rid of most of the fishing pics. I don't have any full body pics to show lol so no new pictures. I've changed my bio so it doesn't sound like 'my way or the highway', I've actually tried a couple of different bios but nothing ever makes a difference. I don't mention how many snakes I have... all in all, no nothing has changed."

The most prominent theory now then is that he has been shadow banned by the app, meaning that he no longer appears in the searches of other people due to the number of times he's swiped across such a relatively short period of time.

"Start a new profile with the changes made so you have a chance to be seen again," recommends one user. "With 2 million swipes you've likely seen almost everyone you can."
