One new McDonald's restaurant has left users on social media confused, as the 'remote' location has this particular franchise seemingly running without electricity.
McDonald's is one of the biggest companies in the entire world, and you never have to walk too far before you're greeted with another one of their restaurants.
While you might have to walk a bit further to find one with a working ice cream machine, they're seemingly always there ready and waiting with your next burger and fries, no matter the situation.

Somehow, though, this has even extended to areas without any electricity, leaving many users on social media stunned at how one particular restaurant is able to open and remain functional.
Revealed by TikTok user @thumbs.up.canuck, the McDonalds restaurant recently opened at 8075 Av. Marcel-Villeneuve in Laval, Canada, is seemingly running exclusively off of a generator, after being dropped in the middle of a farm field.
The video details: "There's not even electricity yet. They're running the damn place on a generator. That's crazy."

Some users in the comments are convinced of a wider conspiracy, however, alluding to the potential future plans of the surrounding area:
"Then you know what's coming, they wouldn't put it there for nothing," says one user, while another user argues: "Guarantee you that's phase one for a truck stop, prob gonna be a Love's there, and future highway."
Many others have commented on the idealized production of this particular franchise though, asking if the restaurant is "farm to table," and theorizing about the 'freshness' of the produce - although it's highly unlikely that the surrounding farm will be the source of this location's ingredients.
On the flip side, however, many have pointed out the shadiness of the original poster's information, as they have perhaps neglected to include what lies behind the camera.

"Why didn't you film the other wise of the street where there is plenty of house [laughing emoji], it's not in the middle of nowhere," points out one user.
Going to the location on Google Maps it's easy to see that across the road from the McDonalds is a massive housing estate, which likely has complete power coverage.
The original poster claims that: "It's surrounded by acres of nothing on 3 sides... remarkably desolate," but this is perhaps a subversion of the truth.

While it is definitely factual that the restaurant is running on a generator at the moment, and fears that this is just phase one of a future transformation could very well be true, it's not quite the magical McDonald's that we all hoped it might be after all.
