While Hollywood is mourning the tragic loss of Rob Reiner after he was found murdered at his Los Angeles home, President Donald Trump has come under fire for his controversial take and response to the acclaimed actor and director's demise.
The world was shocked to hear about Reiner's death, but on December 14, it was announced that his body was found alongside his wife, Michele. Their daughter found the pair, with both having sustained fatal stab wounds, and their son reportedly being arrested in the aftermath.
Tributes have poured in for The Princess Bride director, with the likes of Jamie Lee Curtis, Ben Stiller, John Cusack, and Ron Howard being among the celebrity mourners.
A slew of people from the world of politics also shared their condolences, with Barack Obama saying that he and Michelle Obama were "heartbroken by the tragic passing” of the Reiners.

The former President of the United States was joined by Kamala Harris, who spoke of her 'dear friend' and said: "Rob Reiner's work has impacted generations of Americans. The characters, dialogue, and visuals he brought to life in film and television are woven throughout our culture."

Elsewhere, Former Speaker of the House and current California congresswoman Nancy Pelosi concluded: "Civically, he was a champion for the First Amendment and the creative rights of artists.”
Not everyone's statement was received as well, with Donald Trump claiming Rob Reiner was suffering from 'Trump Derangement Syndrome'.
This fictional affliction is something the POTUS has thrown around at mainstream media like The New York Times, as well as the general Democrat-voting public, and even Elon Musk.
Notable Trump critic Governor Gavin Newsom praised Reiner as a "big-hearted genius," but with the When Harry Met Sally... director being a stalwart Democrat who once looked to run against Arnold Schwarzenegger as Governor of California, it seems this is what led to Trump's TDS diagnosis.
Posting on Truth Social, the President wrote: "A very sad thing happened last night Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS."
Reiner was vocal with his own opinions on Trump, memorably saying back in 2017: "He is mentally unfit. Not only does he not understand how government works, he has no interest in trying to find out how it works."
Although Trump initially referred to it as 'sad', he then claimed Reiner had "driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump."
If referring to himself in the third-person wasn't enough for the President's critics, Trump also came under fire for claiming that Reiner's 'paranoia' had reached new heights when the current administration "surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness."
Trump rounded off by again promoting the so-called 'Golden Age of America', and although he said he wished the Reiners peace, the backlash was immediate.
Journalist Aaron Rupar clapped back, saying: "This is one of the most psychotic things Trump has ever posted."
Another complained: "I would impeach and remove him from office just for this. (I am semi-serious.) This is not just vile, it is that same word with the ‘e’ moved to the front instead of the back."
A third said: "How can anyone say Charlie Kirk’s death was horrific and undeserved, and that no one should be killed for their political beliefs and then turn around and say Rob Reiner ‘wasn’t a good person’ because of his?
